They have the best cinnamon rolls I have ever eaten. I have tried several local bakeries in Asheville, but none can compare to West End! My favorite coffee is the Snicker doodle, just wish they served it everyday.

I started going there 8 years ago Friday mornings. I usually got their cinnamon bun, which had quite a reputation.
A few years later there was apparently a change of ownership, and the owner must have taken a few secrets with him, as the cinnamon rolls have never been the same.
Most if the time they are badly overpriced, with a fluffy dry constancy totally different from the original. A baker at another shop said it is usually the result of lack of attention , but in any case, just not close to the original.
If you go to their website, you will see a picture of it - but it is the way it looked, not the puffy over-proofed ones they had today.
I check every few weeks, and sometimes not real bad, but still a long way from the origional.

Great spot in West Asheville with good food any time of day. Coffee is excellent. My specialty coffee is always well made and I enjoy being able to work in this cafe. It's an easy place to spend a few hours enjoying the atmosphere and having a go-to place in West Asheville.

The Vegan muffins are super delicious, I had the Carob Chip Muffins. Their Chocolate Chip cookies and Walnut bread are also really tasty. I can't wait to try more from here.

Loved everything. Food was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had the great-big-old-giant-cinamon roll. Tasty. I also had a egg and cheese biscuit (amazing). Enough food that we couldn't finish it all!

It was ok. Muffin was slightly dry, which I'm just being picky on. It was still tasty, but the thing that we were really upset about is the fruit. Fruit that comes with the granola and yogurt could be far more inspiring. Just melons and grapes. That's the kind of thing a crappy diner gives you.
Granola and yogurt is awesome! But the fruit.... It's the little things if you're trying to set yourself apart from other local bakeries in the area. Girlfriend has been here a lot; staff is always friendly. Overall enjoyable experience but things could be better, just sayin.

Always have a great experience here! Delicious food and the pastries are huge--great prices too! The veggie sandwich and grilled cheese deluxe are both SO GOOD.

Really how is this place still in business? I'm a native of Ashevile and always wish they would give up their space and let somebody else come in and do a better job.
They at least need to call themselves a cafe rather than bakery. They have nothing in the cases, its humorous. Their transient employee staff never knows what's going on or how to do basic things. In addition my experiences their employees have always been smug and make you feel like you being there is inconveniencing them. So many better places.

We had a BLT and spicy maple latte and they were both delicious. The home made bread alone is worth going for.

I just drove over an hour to eat here as it showed they were open online. I arrived to find that they are closed and all of their windows are covered with paper with no signs or anything on the door explaining what’s going on. Normally a great place to eat but this experience was disappointing and has wasted my entire morning.
