While in general this seems like a pleasant eatery, it might not be a great choice for vegans, at least for breakfast. The air was dense with frying meat particulate and the smell of bacon and eggs was overpowering. I would have left had I not been with people who are not vegan, and under time pressure. The vegan sausage biscuit was OK, but I don't think I'd go there for breakfast again. Having to inhale noxious meat steam was not only physically unpleasant, it was emotionally upsetting. It might even be unhealthy for anyone with respiratory issues. I strongly encourage the management to invest in a more effective ventilation system.

A quick sit in for brunch. Excellent sandwiches and toast. They have a collection of tasty fresh bread. Very good service and very quick as well. ❤️❤️

Slow, overpriced, out of coffee lids and 2 out of 3 coffee drips were empty. Weak coffee. At least 30+ minutes for food. Out of pastries and sausage. Don’t recommend unless you enjoy wasting your time.

Just reopened! I came for pizza and wine Wednesdays. Incredible gourmet pizza. They are serious about their wine and wine parings! Such a gem. Strong recommendation.

The owner or worker has used covid 19 to inflict gratuity guilt on its customers. If you don't give them a tip for literally placing your pastry into a bag they give you an attitude. Really bad taste in my mouth from their fake friendliness. If you need more money to support the business raise your price but don't guilt the customer into giving a tip. We are all hurting for money. I'll never go back.

The food was good but the service by one particular lady (I did not get her name but she was older and wearing some clodhopper shoes) was really crappy. First she was rude and impatient while we were trying to decide what we wanted to order (I guess it bothered her that we didn't know exactly what we wanted as soon as we were at the register). I ordered a grilled ham and swiss but it came out ungrilled so I had to take it back to her. Her response was, "Well I didn't hear you say you wanted a grilled. "I should have told her her that's probably because you were too busy being rude." At any rate, after rudely redoing my sandwich the right way, she walks over to the table and throws the sandwich down. I say thank you and she walks off without a "you're welcome" or even looking at and/or acknowledging me. I was so upset that I couldn't even enjoy my food until I went back up to the counter to tell her exactly how rude she was and that I would never be coming back there to eat again or recommending that place to anybody else. After all that I ate my food and it was decent.

Went in to get my favorite BLT with avocado and they didn't have tomato, lettuce or avocado! Disappointing.
Supply chain issues continue...

I called West End Bakery at 9 a.m. in hopes that my last minute cake order would not get laughed at. I needed a simple but elegant cake for a small gathering after my step daughters wedding ceremony which was at four that afternoon. I needed the cake by six. These people were and are amazing! It was a beautiful cake, and it tasted as good as it looked, and they even delivered it for me. Yes, it was a little pricey, but what are those special moments in life worth, more than what I paid! Thank you West End Bakery and special thanks to the lady who took my order. She is definitely in the right line of work.

They make ok bread... Stay away if you don't use a microwave at home, why would you pay for that out? I didn't feel comfortable eating any "cooked" "food" so I tried a prepared cold salad which was ok but I've seen and tasted much better cold cases. Seems like City Bakery with less options. The local produce that makes Asheville special was no where to be found.
I much prefer and highly recommend OWL Bakery a little further down Haywood if you want real food, and a better mood.
Why three stars if I don't like this place? It's not the worst place I've been, the location is convenient for a coffee, but you won't see me here.
