The West End Bakery

Great place. Nice patio, reasonable prices, great food.

I had the opportunity to stop by West End Bakery this afternoon, and it was a wonderful experience!
The menu was posted clearly, as was a requirement to wear a mask. The staff was friendly and attentive. While there, I picked up several loaves of bread to take home. The loaves were dense, rich, and heavy; exactly what you want from the bakery.
In the 20 or so minutes it took to get back to the house, the most amazing aroma permeated my car. It took a force of will not to pull over and tear into the bread. When I did make it here, I took the chance to nibble at a heel while doing chores. Divine!

Came here today hoping to get a cinnamon roll as they are supposedly really good. They told me that they have not been making them for months. They said the morning roll is similar. So I got that along with a chocolate croissant, and a latte. Let's start with the chocolate croissant. It was similar to eating a hard roll, the difference is that the hard roll is softer in the middle. I have had chocolate croissants all over the world and I must say this is probably one of the worst I have had. Next the morning roll.... let's just say it was made with the same dough as the croissant. The latte was Luke warm right after it was made. All this for $12.... Wow. Then there is the awkward moment when they ask you if you want to add a tip to your credit card. I am not a big proponent of tipping counter help, and prefer to limit it to extraordinary service.

Not the best bakery for vegans. I read later that they have a vegan cookie but when I asked for any vegan food they said they had nothing. Was super busy and thick with the smell of meat and grease. It’s one if my favorite areas and close to my home so I’d go for a quick coffee again but that tasted pretty burnt as well.

I'm pretty disappointed. We've been visiting here for years every time we come up to visit family. This time, the morning rolls were from yesterday, they no longer make cinnamon rolls, and it just isn't the same quality. What used to be a can't miss is now a pass. Do better or close the doors.

Came here for breakfast, left impressed.

Family was visiting and we decided to stop by here for breakfast. Typical bakery/deli fare, but very well executed and everything tasted great.

I had an everything bagel with smoked trout. My brother's wife had a scramble with eggs and beans that was very tasty.

I would have liked to see a local coffee roster providing the coffee, but other than that, a great find on Haywood Rd.

Great coffee and delicious foods. Exceptional treats and baked goods. Large open air rooms, but spread out enough to feel cozy. Constantly revolving local artists works on display for sale. Nice outdoor seating area and easy access parking. A firmly established west side tradition thats totally worth you time to check out & indulge in.

Best local bakery! Never had anything bad here. Amazing breakfast sandwiches, mouthwatering fresh pastries. My biggest problem is that I can't get there early enough to get the pastries I want, but they are all great so it doesn't really matter. Super friendly staff that go above and beyond. Love this place!

One of my fav Weaverville coffee shops gets their yummy treats from here (the apple and pumpkin breads are DELISH 😋) so since I was going to Sunshine Diner to pick up breakfast for a friend and I, I stopped to get us coffee too.
I was surprised there were no sweet breads for sale when I came, but I did get a ginger and lemon scone that was pretty tasty. They only have one size drink also which was a bit disappointing but it’s a good price (like $5 for a oat milk pumpkin spice latte). I ended up getting two extra shots added because it only comes with 2 shots and I can’t wake up fully with anything under 4 shots 😄.

BEST Biscuit!!!! Ended up here kinda "accidently"....it was the universe's way of telling me "HEEELLLO, GIIIRL, get THE biscuit sandwich!!!" My hubby loved the smoked salmon & caper toast. The girl that helped us with ordering & check out was a gem!
