Inquiring Mind Bookstore & Cafe

It is a shame that such a wonderful space is kept in such a way. It is a shame that the owner cannot see fit to dedicate even a small section to conservative ideas. Inquiring Minds is not a true description, because minds should be inquiring about both sides of an issue. That is not the case here. Indoctrinating Minds is a better description. Unlike others that have posted 1-star reviews, I have been inside the store. It is a beautiful space. But it was distressing to learn that there very little for an inquiring mind like my own. Utter tripe. Wouldn't it be better to have at least one book that discusses the other side of the story?

Great selection of new and used books in a broad array of subjects. Very nice, helpful people who will gladly aid you in your quest for great food to snack on while enjoying an awesome cup of coffee in a relaxed atmosphere, complete with chess-board tables! Further, they have frequent cultural events open to the public, helping make Saugerties one of the coolest towns in upstate NY : )

Love this place is like stepping in a bookstore from an early 90's movie. great books, used books. Amzing coffee and the staff is super chill, plenty of chairs to sit down and read before you buy.

Don’t appreciate their disdain for conservatives and their nasty one sided liberal display they had when our president was elected. Not the way to do business. Keep your nasty politics out of our town center. You didn’t see people display distain for the last president and there was plenty of it. Never stepped foot in there and never will now. Would travel to Barnes and noble before I’d go here. Plenty of other book stores that don’t shove their views down your throat. Sad.

Fab atmosphere, selection of books is impressive, all kinds of coffee and cookies are great. Readings, poetry night other activities are great . Privileged to have in Saugerties. Owner is great

Very quaint bookstore. Had some really great jazz Cd's. We really appreciated the atmosphere of this old building. Something you would see in the movies. They also have a huge coffee menu. This is a must see.

I would much rather buy my books from a small, independent store that encourages free thinking and discourse than from a giant corporation that cares more for profits than people. I recently moved back to my home town of Saugerties after 20 years. I love how vibrant and diverse it has become. Thanks, Inquiring Minds, for being part of what makes our town a fun and interesting place to live!
