Best eclectic place with a good selection of coffee, chai, Yerba mate and tea. I got the Aztec mocha and I was surprised by how good it was

Just an awesome local hang out. Total stoner/grunge atmosphere. Great food.

I have always thought to myself "oh how nice it must be to have some time to go sit out in front of javas to enjoy a cup of coffee with nothing to do on a Wednesday morning." Well this was that Wednesday morning that I finally got to experience that and I must say it was absolutely amazing. The coffee was fresh and had a great aroma Something about it hits differently in the morning sitting outside watching the busyness of the world go by but you get to sit and just enjoy a few moments to yourself. I wouldn't get that same feeling if it were sitting out in front of a Dunkin donuts on a busy main Street. Again something about it just hits differently

Java’s was the spot for black americanos, espresso and plain lattes. I don’t bother with flavors and syrups since I just like the taste of coffee. Went to the RIT Java’s more often but this center city location was great also, any time I was in this part of the city. It’s always nice to have a warm coffee and extra energy when I’m wandering.

On a Sunday morning it was a very quiet place to have a coffee and an espresso. Very good espresso. The art on the walls is very interesting and it makes this very eclectic place a charming coffee place. They did not have any lightly roasted coffee on the day we were there but the selection looked good.

Really unique, comfortable cafe with great coffee and even better pastries

Beside the Coffee, which is the main draw, they have GREAT large cookies for $2.50 /ea. Right texture, great flavor... practically a meal!

I went to javas on my way to my wife's job and thought it would be nice to surprise her with a large iced double shot caramel latte.
When I got to my wife's work I gave her the latte and she was surprised and took a sip.....well to my surprise she looked at me with a disgusted look on her face and told me to take a sip. I did and it was awful bitter with no caramel in it (I don't drink coffee or else I would have known better).
I tried to get it replaced and the lady told me "we don't do that, email my manager."
Javas is way to expensive to mess up an order and NOT own up to their mistake and replace it.
I'll just stick with McDonald's coffee because in my personal opinion they have better coffee from the little I've tasted and they own up to their mistakes.

Interesting coffee shop for people watching. A good cup of coffee, and some nice pastry and snack options. They lunch counter makes good sandwich options, but only during limited hours of service at mid-day-- wish they served later in the evening. The staff is knowledgeable, and most of them are generally amiable, making the kind of light chit-chat one has over getting a cup or discussing the differences between the various roasts or beverages they offer. I have had a few experiences with baristas here who seemed to feel serving me a cup of coffee was beneath them, though to be fair, maybe they had just had a bad day, as it doesn't happen often. The place tends to be noisy and busy-- often with lots of Eastman School students and staff, as well as an eclectic mix of various city folks or people attending an event downtown-- so it's a great place to watch the world go by over espresso and chocolate.
