Bread Alone Bakery

Not just a bakery. There is a cafe dining area in the back. Would definitely recommend having brunch here. The dishes served here often feature one of the breads made in house. The seasonal cocktails are also quite good.

I've bought their bread at my local grocery store, and love it! I've always wanted to eat at the restaurant, and it did not disappoint today! Had a soup and chicken sandwich, both delicious!! Service was excellent as well! Will return when I'm in Rhinebeck next :)

Very expensive and unsatisfying. Why does a grilled cheese sandwich cost $8? Because it comes with a fruit salad I'm allergic to. Who puts butter on a ham sandwich. I was uncomfortable the whole time I was in the establishment. None of the options were appealing and the parking situation is atrocious. Took almost half an hour to park for us to waste $18 and just go right back to the hospital cafeteria where it's much more reasonable.

Great food, Daniel is a true bread artist. Everything they make is absolutely delicious. The only thing that I don't think is OK, is their prices. Find them quite high. If money is no object, then by all means, enjoy this lovely bistro cafe. Otherwise, go to Panera Bread 😀

Great place for breakfast!

For those who are concerned about gluten-free options, (unfortunately) they don't have much for you. I'd expect a place that specializes in bread to have a variety that includes gluten-free, but I suppose they're still working on that.

What a great experience! The safety precautions for the virus were done in an outstanding manner ... from the time the customer waited outside to when we got inside the store , got directions to wait , safe ordering , safe paying ... i thanked the usher at the door , at how wonderful it all was .... THANK YOU ! Excellent food too ....

Great bakery store with a hidden gem of a cafe in the back, full table service in that bit offering a wide selection of foods that come in impressive sizes while being well presented. I almost ordered the pancakes with the breakfast as a side order but changed my mind at point of ordering, I'm very glade I did, the pancakes where bigger than my head and there was 3 of them. Great selection at the bakery shop part to which we indulged in to. There as no espresso drinks that day so I ordered tea, that was the only let down, especially as I later found out there was filter coffee. Tipical brit, so used to all coffee being espresso based just defaulted to tea.

Really nice place to stop in for a quick bite in Rhinebeck. The space is larger than it looks from the outside. They have counter service for quick bites of tasty bread and a hot beverage. They also have sit down service for food! All in all, just walk in and smell the bread and then try to walk out without buying something.

Nice little local spot to do some work and enjoy a coffee. Nice local food. They do close at 5 pm though. Also they close the donning room earlier that 5 so after the back room closes you can’t get normal service you just order at the counter eat your food at a table. Free WiFi

The quality of the bread has really, really gone down hill. I remember when Dan, the owner, was constantly on top of the baking and made sure everything was top notch.
These days it is common to find under proofed, burnt, and stale baked goods in these stores.
Be sure to check each loaf, each roll, before you buy it, or you could easily ruin a dinner party, like I did last night. I thought Bread Alone stood for quality, but now even store managers complain about the poor quality baked goods they have to sell.
