New age take on a general store with great light and interesting conversation. I had the cold brew smoothie and it was filling and delicious. The pancakes also looked amazing! It’s expensive but quality.

The atmosphere of this little restaurant was excellent. I had the green chili pancakes which were excellent... my wife had the quinoa salad which she said tasted like it had been prepared a long time ago and was rather underwhelming. They also use a Vitamix regularly to make smoothies and the sound bounces off the ceiling and makes it difficult to hear what your dining companion is saying. I would recommend that they invest and something to cover the Vitamix so the noise is less invasive.

I stumbled upon this place accidentally, and I’m glad I did! I stopped by a few days ago and got a red bell pepper with feta “empanada” bread. Soo yummy especially since it was heated. The staff was very friendly and patient as I chose what I wanted. Highly recommend!

Stopped here to grab a quick snack over Labor Day weekend, most of the staff had checked out mentally for the day it seemed. Took awhile for someone to notice us - the young man that eventually took our order was not very enthused to be there and was quite short when we asked about any recommendations or things he liked. We ordered 2 smoothies, one was actually pretty decent, the other was a luke warm water abomination that I took one sip of and left.

I took my Dallas clients to Modern General for the second time in a month. We had a great avocado toast breakfast (but the mint tea was below average and they do not serve regular iced tea.). My clients purchased a number of items from the store both times. Along with breakfast this second time, they purchased two jars of Ghee, a book, several containers of hummus and guacamole and some fresh corn chips. The ticket was $150 last time and probably around $80 this time, if not more. We found the counter people to be very rude both when we ordered and when we checked out. (the two women more than the guy, the front counter lady was cordial). Because we were headed to the convention center for the Native American Treasures show, we were concerned that the food containers might suffer in the heat, so we asked if perhaps we could have a cup of ice and a small plastic bag to put them in. The short haired woman responded brusquely "we don't have ice. There's a gas station down the corner if you want ice", and dismissed us and went about ignoring us while we stood there dumbfounded. My clients said: "we're not going back there next time we come to Santa Fe," and I don't blame them.

Decor is impeccable and the vibe is cool. But, the food was just okay at best. The avocado toast and coffee were pretty average. The prosciutto and robiola corncakes offered an unsettling flavor combo of sweet, funky and savory. While I'd go back for the atmosphere and a coffee, I wouldn't return for the food.

Great place to take photos of food as the portions are so small that they fit easily in frame and the hidden prices are so big that it tricks some into thinking the food is good. The juice is okay, but that is just cause it's made from fruit. Don't waste your money here unless your just trying to farm Instagram likes.
