Well, first off the owners Mary and Julie are just awesome people!! And then there is the food which is spectacular especially the cookies they're so big and chewy and when you get your meal there's plenty of food on the plate! There is also a coffee bar, a gift shop and games for the kids like pinball and Pac-Man!! Just the atmosphere when you walk in the building makes you feel comfortable and at home you could hang out here for two or three hours easily!! But then there's the covid-19 that's got everything shut down ruins it all!! But, hey... They have take out as well!
Almost forgot to mention Mary's homemade cakes for All occasions, she does a great job at this as well! Give her a call or just go in and visit with her you won't be disappointed!

Best mushroom Swiss burger in town. But you can't go wrong with anything they serve.

My kid had lost her ball when it bounced over the wall into the closed shop. The worker opened the door grabbed it and handed it to another family. After 30 minutes of waiting we received our food with my order wrong. A green chili burger plain means meat and chili only. When they gave us our order they couldn’t tell us what burgers they were and we’re dumbfounded.

Some of the best sandwiches and baked goods that I've had anywhere. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. Don't expect a speedy checkout process or fast food timing. The food is well worth the wait.

The burgers are great and the fries came fresh and crispy. We will be coming here more often.

The food is decent, though the coffee leaves a lot to be desired. Their drink menu is very barebones and no frills, though if you know what you want they’re pretty accommodating. To me the coffee itself falls flat, usually on the weak side. If you add a flavored syrup it tends to be overpowered by either the milk in a latte or the chocolate in a mocha. Ask if you want whip cream otherwise it won’t come with it. If there’s a line expect to wait for a while, they haven’t quit figured out how to take orders efficiently yet...

Food had a great flavor and was nice and hot and fresh. Service was with a great warm smile from all the staff. I look forward to eating there again

My husband and I have been stationed at Cannon for roughly three years and we chose to live in Portales. We do our best to make our way around the local businesses and distribute our money to Mom and Pop type shops as opposed to chains that have high up CEO's. Part of our interests and love of these shops, is how personal the Facebook pages can be and how you can really tell what kind of people you can expect while eating here. Our first time in, we decided to pick two sandwiches and we'd split them. While browsing the menu, we stumbled across the kids selection... The custody battle. Really? Of all things you could have used, you chose possibly the tackiest name. Not sure if others found it funny, but it definitely isn't your best idea. Moving past the first disaster, we still decided to order - this was our first and biggest mistake. We decided on the accomplice and the rustler roast beef... The roast beef was flavorless and bland, and didn't impress either of us. The chips were definitely not anything to write home about - I'd much rather eat river rocks. They definitely wouldn't taste like burnt grease, that's for sure. My husband got the pasta salad, and I chose the coleslaw.. Seriously, both were completely and totally inedible. We each took a bite and decided to leave it. Based off of our experience with the food, we hoped the desserts would be better. We chanced it on a cupcake and good golly miss Molly, were we SO wrong. I typically expect cupcakes to be airy, fluffy, and moist... This cupcake was dry, dense, and the frosting did very little to save the texture. I had such high hopes for these dang cupcakes, and I am so sad that they fell flat. The only saving grace I've seen with the Cafe would be the decor. It's extremely cute inside, and it's pretty neat that they have a candy counter as well! There were just too many downfalls for me to want to come back. The biggest upset and issue for me, that absolutely sealed the deal on whether I will continue to support this business or not, is the fact that i have friends all around this community who are friends of these owners. Seeing SCREENSHOTS of these ladies blatantly talking badly about other businesses to belittle them, and say that their desserts/food are nasty (you're one to talk, lady) is completely and totally uncalled for. You have businesses that are well established here and you choose to open up ANOTHER sandwich shop? Why can't this town have any variety. I 100% will not support a business who cannot learn how to coexist with businesses that were here doing far better before they came along. It's a small town. You should know better than that. To top all of it off? The owner's husband is snide on every other businesses page as well. It's not a smart move to have your last name dragging other business owners through the mud. When you can learn to be respectful, and make decent food, maybe you'll earn more business. Your tactics haven't been working for you so far. I'll keep my business as far away as possible.

Arcade, gift shop, sandwiches, coffee. A whole lot packed into a small store. Music they play can be a bit loud depending on where you are in the store. Wish they had a drinks menu with prices. I like a coffe shop that can give me the usual suggestions but also has a menu with their signature specialties.
