We were on a hiking adventure across New Mexico and Arizona and went out of our way to drop down to a more southerly route to visit Pie Town. We were really glad we did.
You will miss the town if you blink (from what we could tell, Main Street spanned less than a city block), but it's is a happily kitsch-y place. We grew up/live near Manhattan and if you expect this place to be anything like the Big Apple, then get over yourself.
While we left with a few choice pieces of jewelry from a store that had just opened the week we were there, we came for the pie and we were NOT disappointed.
The blueberry pie we had at the Pie Town Cafe was ABSOLUTELY the best I have ever had. It was completely unique. The blueberries were not in some fruit/sugar/corn starch gel but were whole, lightly-sugared beauties under a perfect, lightly-browned sugared crust. Never had anything like it. Been searching the world to get that recipe and right now I am in the process of calling the cafe to see if they will sell the recipe to me. Pie Town Cafe Folks: I WILL be calling. I WILL pay for the recipe.
What a fun addition to our hard-driving, hard-hiking adventure. Loved it!

I had such high expectations for the pie's in Pie Town. I though for sure they would be the most amazing pies ever. I'm so sad to say that these pie's did not live up to the hype. This is a small town and the staff was as friendly as they come.

This place impresses me everytime! I travel a lot and make a point to drive through here a few times a year just to stop at the cafe. The burgers rival the best that can be found anywhere in NM and the pie is always fresh and amazing. Pop in here on your next trip, you'll be glad you did.

I'm only giving this place 4 stars because they're income is a little too low to afford a/c and to seal the floor. Otherwise, this was a great place to go. The burgers taste exactly the way a burger should, street tacos were awesome and the pie was the best apple pie I've ever had. They were so nice to everyone that walked in the door.

Pie was great- got the blue moon pie (peach/berry). Wish we could have stayed for lunch- smelled great in there. Happy we got some jelly to go though! Owners were very friendly and hope to come back again soon.

My companion and I had a delightful experience here yesterday! The owner, Brad, met us at the door and gave us a warm welcome. I got pecan pie and ice cream--heavenly, lots of pecans. My companion got a New Mexican patty melt and garlic-parmesan fries and declared them delicious. We had a friendly chat with Brad when he had a break in business. Altogether, a pleasant and yummy experience! I was hesitant to eat here again since I met with poor and rude service 7 years ago. But the new owner has turned it around. Next time, I'm getting the Ohana pie!

Great green Chile cheese burgers! Best pie in town!

Ohana Pie was so good!!! Apple was good too, not syrupy sweet like some. Pie town is an oasis in the desert.

New owner was nice. His Green Chile Cheese Burgers hit the spot. Our little guy almost finished his burger and loved every bit of it. That says a lot since he's a picky eater. It's a one man operation but we enjoyed everything. He also has free Wi-Fi so that was nice since I didn't have cell service.

A wonderful place to visit. Very friendly staff. You know when you see advertisements for food and when you get it it looks nothing like the picture? Well when the burger order came out, you would swear it was prepared for the photo shoot. It absolutely looked just like the picture on their web page. I highly recommend stopping here. Pies were delicious as well.
