Awesome coffee. Freshly brewed right there. Staff is just okay. This time of year, you can add Pumpkin spices to any brew-delicious. Very busy, you will wait but they have a text ahead option.

When the coffee is good, it’s real good. The problem though that they have is not the recipe that creates the flavor. It’s the people who make your coffee in the morning... These employees all have their own little station. One person takes your order, one makes it and one rings you up. Rook has a few problems that they can’t find a way to solve. I travel fifteen minutes every morning to get Rook coffee. About 2-3 days out of every week, these incompetent employees tend to make my coffees the way they feel like making them. Maybe it’s because they want to make it how they enjoy theirs or just don’t know how to fulfill their customers order. If the coffee does not come out the way I ordered mine; it tastes like burnt Starbucks coffee. ( very simple- milk and two sugars) So now since Rook has no problem taking my money and handing myself a coffee that I didn’t order or even maybe the wrong coffee, I will be posting a new review everyday that they screw up my order.
Let’s make this simple... today my coffee was absolute garbage! Yesterday my girlfriends coffee had zero sugar in it. So two days in a row Rook Coffee in Wall township has sucked! I pay for one thing and they give me something different. That’s not what I paid for! Oh and the text in order (10 minutes prior) is a failure. The place is so unorganized, the mobile texting order part is pathetic and their line situation is slow due to their unattended operation.
So tomorrow keep an eye out for a new review. Honest and fair reviews here only!

4 stars for coffee, which is pretty good. 2 stars for the ridiculously inefficient interior layout. I’ve been here countless times, and any time there is a wait, it’s just a zoo. Why do we not order and pay at the same time? Then you have to be sure to tell the cashier which coffee you got for inventory purposes (why not just order at the register like every other good coffee shop?) Then, after paying, you awkwardly stumble past everyone else to find a little pocket to wait for your name to be called.

Every time I order ahead it takes way longer than anticipated. I waited so long today that I paid and then ended up leaving without my coffee. I shouldn’t have to wait 20 minutes for coffee, and I definitely wasn’t the only one standing around waiting today.
The coffee is overpriced, the place is chaotic and disorganized, and it shouldn’t be this complicated to make a cup of hot coffee.
Rook seems to cater more to the iced coffee crowd while making everyone else wait 20 minutes for pourover coffee.
I was a longtime customer but I think I’m done with Rook for good. You’ve lost a customer.

This is my favorite place to go for iced coffee near the shore! The summertime special, vanilla cinnamon is the best!

I do not work at Rook. I am merely a satisfied customer that wishes to post an overwhelmingly positive review here to offset the sickening amount of white privilege (Caucasian here, for the record) occurring in the reviews.
Seriously? The people working here are not making great money. Why would you think for a second that you're so entitled to another human being serving your lazy, privileged carcass because you can't even make yourself a damn cup of coffee? It's more important for you to you to continue to pollute our environment and contribute to the growing amount of plastic waste?
All because you make more money than them? Because we are slaves to a dollar that doesn't exist? We should treat each other like servants?
At the end of your life, your status and material possessions won't even matter. It's the relationships you have with the people surrounding you, and how you treated others and made them feel...
Humanity, we have some work to do here.
Good luck & all the best.

Really good coffee. It's made to order with fresh beans. It's much better than and almost as fast as what you can get from any of the major corporations. They have lots of beans to choose from and a couple cold brews. My favorite is the Bali, black, or the New Orleans or Turkish if I want something different. They have a variety of simple syrups and milks to choose from as sweeteners if you're into thah kind of thing. The mocha is so dark and cocoay. It's not sweetened either, so you can get it sweetened to taste with your choice of sweetener.

Everytime I go in there, I kick myself.
Why it takes 10 minutes for a lousy cup of coffee, I’ll never know.
Oh, because it doesn’t... they cater to their college buddies and cute boys instead of going down the line in the order of people that walk thru the door.
I also don’t like when other people mix my coffee... maybe if they only had to make the crappy coffee instead of mixing it as well, it wouldn’t take so long.
$3.05 for a cup?
SO NOT WORTH IT
It’s amazing how full of cows this world is....
Let’s all follow the herd... does this cup of coffee make me look cool?

Terrible. Funneled in like cattle, staff disorganized-and to top it off, the "medium" Sumatra I ordered was as weak and tasteless as water. I ended up dumping it down my sink when I got home. This place is popular, I'm gathering, due to its marketing / merchandising scheme, from which those ubiquitous tacky crow silhouetted magnets emblazon the rear-end of one too many vehicles around these parts. If you're not a conformist obnoxious millennial, and you're interested in a quality cup of coffee that you don't have to overburdened with sugar and cream just to make it palatable, I'd suggest skipping the big black crow all together . Instead , try Turnstile Coffee in Belmar. It's a great local roaster with an inviting atmosphere and truly quality coffee.

If you're going to spend 5 bucks on coffee, it should be here. It's strong coffee without added water and syrups. I would recommend ordering online ahead of time
