Every time my love and I visit NJ, we have to stop at Rook. The first time I came here was a life-changing experience - these people truly know their coffee and care about it. The seasonal stuff is always interesting and delicious, although my favorite will always be the New Orleans style. The fact that I can take that home with me to tide me over until my next visit makes the distance bearable.

One of the best roasted coffees I have had in a long time. This place is for coffee lovers and aficionados. The Sumatra is out of this world. I don't live near any of the Rook locations so I buy my coffee by the pound to brew at home. I travel around once a month to this area of NJ for work and I look forward to it mainly because of this coffee. I buy myself two cups and a pound to go. I absolutely love this coffee. Way to go Shawn, keep up the great roasting.

This place has basically the best coffee I've ever had. Everyone is also really friendly so that's a huge plus too. My favorite is traditional black cold brew. The coffee is so good I don't need any thing put in there.

I'm usually at Rook 3-5 times a week for grab and go coffee as i'm always on the road for meetings. The coffee is great, however in terms of consistency not so much, that and the wait time. It really depends on who's working at that time. Sometimes I feel like as if the text in orders are more important than the actual in person orders. I can't count the amount of times I've waited on line by myself just to be called on after they made a few other coffees for customers who aren't there yet before asking me for mine. If the line has more than 4 people it'll usually take 20 to 30 mins of your time to order, pay and get the coffee. So I end up walking out and getting my coffee elsewhere. The consistency issue on the other hand has to do with the amount of cream/sweetener each staff member adds. Not much of a big deal but when you have a hour drive ahead of you and your sipping on coffee with little to no sweetener in it, aggravation sets in. That and on occasion I've gotten the wrong type of coffee. The New Orleans is my favorite and if i get any other roast I can tell. The 3 star rating is based on the logistics of this particular location in comparison to the other locations.

Okay so I usually get coffee for my co workers and bosses at my building and rook is nearby so I usually go to them. This review is based off of the dozens of times I've had their coffee and I usually get the cold brew, I take my coffee very seriously and if I'm gonna pay $5 for a coffee everyday I want it to be something I enjoy, my biggest problem with rook is the consistancy with flavor and to test this I usually try to get my co worker the same coffee as myself so that we can compared to last time, so I'm not the only one that thinks it taste difference almost every time. Sometimes it tastes to bitter and sometimes it tastes to milked down, the quality of the coffee is pretty good overall. Rook measures the amount of coffee each time they make it as least from what I can tell, so I dont know what goes wrong, it could be the creamer or the wrong tap or not enough sweetener. I assure you it has nothing to do with my pallet, I've traveled all over and the first thing I try when I travel is the coffee of the area. I just wanted to make it known that when Rook makes you a coffee sometimes it can taste amazing which sets the bar high for me and then the next time for whatever reason it just doesn't taste as good. I hope they don't dislike me because of my feedback but coffee is something I enjoy and I always have high expectations for personally and when those expectations aren't met I can't help but feel I wasted my money when that happens. I don't want to be that guy who always complains but for a coffee house without espresso it's pretty damn good and addicting but when it doesn't taste as good as the last time it just bums me out. I still will get coffee from here but I dont think it'll be on a regular basis as much.

P.S
The best coffee I've ever had would be Bean Trader in North Carolina, there's a couple decent spots in NY and in Texas to.

I can't say enough....great product, locally owned. If you're looking to support small business, this is how you do it. You can tell that they care about their product, they take pride in it! You can even text your order ahead of time and they will have it ready for you. The options are great too, as far as being able to get a cup of coffee or a bag ground for your Keurig at home!

Service is pretty quick considering most of the coffee is made per order. The New Orleans blend is my favorite. Good stuff, good staff.. you need one in either Bradley Beach or Belmar?!

Working like a fine oiled machine is good however , if asked for a splash of cold brew it should be in capacity to do it. If the shop gets too formulaic then you run the risk of having a less human experience and isn't that what defined rook? The human aspect returned? Saving grace, friendly staff and a banging cup of coffee. I can feel my heart in my ears. Good scone.

Always my favorite. However no don't like the pay before you show up. I get we have a Covid 19 situation. However they are limiting the clients and making the progress long.
Not knowing that I needed the app and wasting space in my phone for a once in a while purchase wasn't worth it.
The coffee is good. A little pricey but the 15 minutes of wasted time. Wasn't worth it to me.
