The Metropolitan Coffeehouse

When we are visiting Jackson for a long weekend, we always stop by the Met a couple of times for coffee. My wife loves their lattes. I really enjoy their flavored coffees. This weekend I went for the Funky Monkey. A bit sweet but very delicious and satisfying. I got it twice, so I obviously enjoyed it! The service is really good, too. And fast. Yes, we will be back!

Food is alright! No complains there. But these guys are in service industry and they know no aspect of customer service!
We went to MET with grand parents and kids under 2 (it was cold for them to sit outside). And we occupied a room on the second floor. We CHECKED, it did not have any signs of-do not enter/board room or some sign showing public seating is not allowed.
We occupied the room and started eating after sometime a young lady comes in and tell us, you cannot eat in here, it is not allowed. We requested can we finish the food since we are mid way and we will clean up the room. But she started yelling “ I CANNOT ALLOW YOU TO SIT HERE AND EAT”. I asked her to tone down and she is being rude to customers. I went downstairs to see if I can speak someone from management. And a nice lady named Michelle allowed us to sit where we were and finish our food. But this didn’t end there, the girl came again and threatened to leave the room in 10 mins and this time she claimed Michelle is nobody and she (young lady) is the MANAGER!!! This was the most horrible experience you can every have where you have to literally fight to eat your food which you paid for! This would have been fine if the so called RESERVED ROOM, (which clearly did not have any signs saying so) had some booking and we were creating disturbances in their business! Not at all friendly staff. Older staff is very courteous. The young staff is just a bunch of rude kids with no professionalism and definitely no sense of customer service! The staff need to learn and management should teach some good manners to their staff. If the person who claimed she was the manager, then she may want to take a course herself on being courteous and how to serve customers! Again food was not a problem! I am usually a person who does not write reviews because why would you want to write something bad when it is just one of your visit. We were there for holiday and wanted to have some good time with family and friends. Food can be hit and miss but this experience was BAD and the staff was DISRESPECTFUL!

We didn't eat, just came for coffee. Staff at the register are so friendly and make you feel very welcomed. When my cappuccino is sooooooo smooth that sugar is not needed I know they're using a fantastic quality bean. We alo got the Nutty Bean with oatmilk and it was outstanding. Their baked products looked simply amazing. Coming from a family bakery of 54 years I could clearly see the muffins had a perfect color too them. Next visit I'll indulge. The upstairs loft was cozy and a fabulous place to curl up with hot beverage and goid book, or even to study. They offer WiFi so bring your laptop and get some work done in a warm environment. For us this cafe stays on our list to revisit.

Delightful experience! We were blown away at the friendliness and genuine care the staff had for us. The food is also delicious. I tried the breakfast lavash— incredible. Good selection of coffees. All this in a unique, welcoming environment.

I can't visit the White Mountains without going to The Met. It has the most charming atmosphere in a coffee shop I have ever seen. The art on the walls is always intriguing to look at, and the seating is very comfortable. The coffee is excellent - I almost always get (and highly recommend) the Funky Monkey. The staff is very pleasant and personable

Delicious lattes and some creative breakfast sandwiches. I had the Saco sans bacon and a pecan pie latte. Both were very tasty. They have a few pods outside for outdoor dining of parties up to four.

Great atmosphere and great coffee choices. Laughed out loud and could agree with their decor 😂

The worst experience ever. Ordered coffee at 10:59 am. At 11:19 still no coffee. Groups of people came after us and left already with their drinks. This was a simple White Russian latte.
I asked to just refund me exactly at 11:19 am because 20 min it’s simply ridicules to wait this long for coffee drink to be prepared.
No one said a simple “sorry”. Zero. Nada. Null.
The girl with dark long hair showed so much attitude refunding the money.
While she was doing that, my name was finally called… I said this took so long I don’t want it any longer. They just dumped it in the sink.
Zero customer service and some sort of professionalism.
Go across the street to their competitors FRONTSIDE COFFEE ROASTER! Have never waited for the coffee there and they are way more busy.
Too bad, wanted give MET a chance but they decided they are not worthy.
