Old World Coffee Lab - Midtown

Coffee is not cheap but it's high quality, and roasted in house just right. Kind and lovely staff. Tasteful music selection. Not too busy. Super chill atmosphere for a relaxed sitting.

Very good overall. Nice staff, nice atmosphere, small selection of drinks that include some types not typically found elsewhere, good hot chocolate made with Ghirardelli. Intimate atmosphere in nice part of town. Seating and parking are somewhat limited and seats aren't very comfy. But still very good overall.

For coffee in Reno. Honestly you can’t find better.

Consistently great bean sourcing, and roasting. And they take brewing very seriously.

Their pastries are excellent as well.

Don’t forget 2 fer Tuesday. 2 bags of beans for $25!

My top coffee choice for Reno for the following reasons:
* Knowledgable and passionate staff - these guys and ladies know and love coffee
* Quality of coffee - they go out of their way to get good product and are excellent roasters
* Unique offerings - using bitters instead of syrup, creative cold drinks in summer

If you are a coffee enthusiast and you live in or are visiting Reno, Old World is a must. I would suggest trying one of their seasonal offerings, or, if you're like me, ask which of their current roasts they suggest for a pour-over.

We both had pour overs and a pastry. The pour overs were too watery, making the coffee taste mostly blend and the pastries were not great (muffin was undercooked and the cinnamon roll wasn't fresh). Price rise: it's on the expensive side. Ambiance: it's a great space with lots of light. They have internet and it was relatively quiet.

Edit (responding to owner): thanks for the reply, that was insightful. That explains a lot, my ideal ratio is usually 14:1 (350g of water for 25g of coffee). :D

Coffee was awesome, (had a cappuccino, was proper) and their espresso machine is super cool as well. Lots of space and tables to just sit and spread out. Good place

These guys catered my wedding last fall. My guests were raving all night about Old World Coffee! I would have them at any corporate event or private event because they really add creativity to the setting that is so different from the norm. I love hanging out in their shop with the knowledgable staff and once you go here you'll never go anywhere else for your fix! The "experience" is really amazing for people who are coffee snobs and their side kicks alike; who want a personalized brew! Thanks Old World Coffee for all you bring into my world!
