I quaint little shop in a really cool old saloon. The service here can best be described as bespoke. The personal touches make the place. There is a lot of stuff going on here. I would be sure to ask. There is a good chance you will find something you will enjoy.

Today we were leaving town and in need of some good local coffee for our long drive ahead. I have tried small local coffee shops all over the country and this was one of the best experiences I have ever had.
Great ambiance and beautiful design of the establishment. The Sunday barista was communicative, knowledge and overall good energy. Then had gluten free oat milk for my wife and yes the coffee was really good. If I had more time I would have stayed to enjoy the atmosphere! Definitely will come again!

WOW! What a find! A hidden treasure in mid-downtown Omaha!
If it’s out of your way, it’s worth it! If you’re in town, it’s a must! And if you’re from here, you’re damn lucky!
It’s not your average coffee shop. It’s like walking into a speakeasy hidden in the modest façade of this stand-alone building on 16th street. When you enter, it feels like stepping onto a movie set of a vintage bar scene. The long elegant dark wood bar adorned with parallel round stools took me by surprise and right back to the historic coffee bars I visited around the Pantheon in Rome, Italy.
Interior aside, Howlin’ Hounds is a unique place to mingle with the locals and pick up on the town’s culture, or casually take part discussing current news and politics. Stay 5 minutes and there’s undoubtedly something witty, funny, or intriguing coming from behind the bar.
Whether you come in to pick up your perfectly prepared (though be warned the standard serving size is three shots worth of espresso) drink or choose to sip it peacefully at the bar and indulge in some much sought after “Greggisms”…you are in for a rare treat!
Pros: Eloquent charming host, captivating conversation, warm Midwest hospitality, exquisite artisan coffee, vintage inviting space, and one-of-a-kind experience!
Cons: You will most likely fall in love with the pros and wish Greg will one day clone himself and his bar!

Everything was awesome!! Great cold brew. The owner was very friendly, takes his time with customers and seems genuinely interested in them. The space is very open would make a great hangout spot with a lot of cool art on the walls. It's like a chill bar that serves coffee. I wish I lived in Omaha just do I could be a regular here! Will definitely go back!

Awesome historic neighborhood coffee shop! The owner is attentive and very polite coupled with a passion for the craft of espresso/coffee beverages. I had an espresso macchiato that was made to the Italian standard which was pure PERFECTION. A much different experience from the chain coffee that the kids gets their "sugar high" with.
Summary, if you enjoy a high quality product and friendly neighborhood vibes,... stop, sip, and enjoy the time and space. This is the Best of the BEST.
Thanks Greg for your efforts,

Howlin' Hounds is a tucked away hidden gem. It's a great place to study or sit at the bar and chat. Amazing coffee and a great vibe.

Absolutely the best coffee around. Skip the chain coffee joints and go to Howlin' Hounds. People literally come here from across the country. I've only been going to Howlin' Hounds for a few months and I have met people from all over the country who come for the coffee and keep coming in when they are back in town. Ridiculous. The owner and barista (Greg) is also the best combination of barber and bartender. He is entertaining and easy to talk with. I am always looking forward to the next time I go in.
