Absolutely great food, real home cooking. Be patient as they have a tiny kitchen, but it is worth the wait and the staff is very attentive.

1.5 hours for food… No coffee. Burnt hash browns with no seasoning. I tried a friend’s dish - Bisquick pancakes, large, pasty, but not homemade. My ‘monkey French toast’ had no recognizable maple syrup flavor, it was literally just peanut butter on bland, dry cinnamon bread. First time in a while that I didn’t tip, and I don’t feel bad about it.

Great stop in Darby - the Trapper Burger is sure to fill you up. Very reasonable prices, might be harder to fulfill some dietary restrictions (vegan, gluten-free, etc.), but if those don’t worry you… yum!

Montana Cafe is the best! We have been eating here for about five years and never disappointed! Everything is good but the blueberry pancakes and carrot cake are to die for! The family that runs it is so nice. We feel lucky to live right in Darby so we can visit often. In fact, going for breakfast tomorrow:)

This place is really really good. Don’t expect fast quick service. Expect really good breakfast. The country potatoes are so good. Do Not ignore getting the homemade carrot cake. It’s fantastic and a large portion that’s not loaded with tons of sugar. Instead it’s filled with love.
You want a solid breakfast just support this family establishment.

Totally awesome! That staff was fantastic. We got there jut before closing and the said come right in and have a seat. E offered to take the food to go and then said no problem just enjoy your lunch.
I will definitely go there again.

Food was great. Although we knew it may take awhile for our food we decided to stay anyway. We waited even longer than expected but we did get our coffee so we got visiting done. There were 5 of us. Food worth the wait.

Their dressing taste homemade. It must be because they also make Homemade Carrot Cake...YUM...that is a double blessing because my Dad's favorite is Carrot cake. He just turned 90 and his wish was to go to Montana, Hamilton!!! God is good! We took it to go because his back would not let him sit in a normal chair so we took it to the mountains as a picnic and sat by the river in lay back director chairs that was loaned to me by Airbnb Cozy Cottage Overlooking Bitterroot Valley...God is GOOD! PAMPERED IN SO MANY WAYS!!!
