We were passing through and stopped at this sweet little cafe for a quick breakfast. Great clearly identified vegan options but something for everyone and lovely outdoor patio space. Good variety of coffee drinks and friendly staff. Thanks, Butte!

We stopped in for lunch before our tour of the mine. Had the Larry bird with German potato salad and a side salad with agave dressing. Absolutely delicious and fresh.
Came back for breakfast and coffee the next day. Omelet and potatoes was cooked perfectly and the Mexican mocha coffee was yummy as was the red eye, if you like strong coffee!
Staff is friendly and attentive.

No smoothies or juices.
But guava lemonade was delightful.

Great place for lunch. I had the Birdie Bowl, which was delicious. My wife had the Garden Salad with Goddess dressing, which she loved. Our boy (15) had the BLT, which was "delicious".

Great experience. Delicious food. Great service. Ambience was cozy with the live plants and building character. Highly recommend.

Food was great, service from our server was good but we had snarky comments from both the hostess and other female wait staff. We had gotten coffee from somewhere else before going to the cafe but we left our coffees in our car. Our waiter told us the espresso machine was down so we went and got our coffees. The hostess said something like “I saw you snuck coffee in here” as if we shouldn’t have. Food was 9.5/10 - really good, bacon just a smidge underdone but still good. We finished eating and our family was on a road trip so we were all taking turns using the ONE bathroom and the restaurant was full. We sat there maybe :5-:10 minutes after we had finished eating and the female server slammed silverware into the kitchen sick behind us very loudly and startled us. She did say “sorry” but was abrasive so we started to get up and as she walked past she said something like “you guys ready to leave?”, her tone was very rude. Made us feel very unwelcome.

Lots of variety, and plenty of options for all types of eating preferences. Delicious food. The whole place smells like coffee, and the front end has these big open windows with plant sitting on the sills. Old brick walls with retro signs, and nice wood flooring. Great place

The Hummingbird Cafe; A place for me, for you, for all!
I visited the Hummingbird Cafe last Friday, June 10th with my brother and his girlfriend. They live in Butte and know I'm Vegan and were thoughtful enough to find this place...I'm so glad they did! Coming from Los Angeles, I thought, "This place is going to have some work to do," to convince me. I would not only eat an awesome plant-based meal, but also eat my words of doubt because everything at The Hummingbird was beyond expectations!
They were very busy AND understaffed, yet we were still greeted warmly and thoroughly at the door. The one person at the front was even professional enough to give us the tip that since there were only two servers for the whole restaurant that morning, to sit closer to the front if we wanted faster service. Since, time spent together and some privacy was of greater importance, we chose to sit on the really cool, hidden back porch between buildings. We were still served almost immediately, by Aliesha (I hope I'm spelling that correctly) who was kind, professional, and pretty cool too!
My brother and his girlfriend are NOT vegan, but were still met with tons of options, as was I, so we had more difficulty settling on just one thing than finding something to meet each of our expectations! In the end, I even got a slice of their vegan chocolate cake (which was enough for the three of us actually), and managed to deceive my brother's roommate and family (who are NOT vegan) with bites of the cake!
Being raised in the South, and living in Los Angeles, The Hummingbird Cafe met and exceeded my standards and expectations! Its a chill, homey, great place to meet and eat, and I will be back for sure the next time I visit my brother in Butte!
