This small coffee shop has more than meets the eye. I came with a friend and while we were the only ones in there for a little bit, the barista was really nice and friendly. Our drinks were made extremely well and our drinks were exactly as they should’ve been. It definitely has a more rustic feel inside, and it would be a good spot to come and do some work or just chat with a friend.

This coffee is the best you'll find in town! Super high quality at reasonable prices. (You have to try their Honey Clusters drink!) Such an amazing coffee shop with a warm atmosphere and awesome employees. The owner, Jon, takes super good care of the place and is the nicest guy you'll ever meet. I have countless wonderful memories with my good friends here and it holds a very special place in my heart!

Stopped in recently and had possibly the best cup of drip coffee ever! I forget the name, but it was a Colombian and it was chocolatey up front and full of fruit notes on the back -- smooth drinking, not at all bitter, and full of flavor! I'll be coming in more often! PS - the scone was good too :)

My GF and I stopped through Brick & Mortar today to see what the new owner has done with the shop. We met Carter, their barista, and he was SUPER friendly! He was very engaging, answered all of our questions, and was very knowledgeable.

Thankfully, the new ownership has made the shop a lot more approachable.

We used to go 2-3 times per week years ago, but we stopped going a few years ago because the staff became VERY pretentious, When I caught flack because I want to drink the coffee how I like it, I know that the business no longer had a customer focus. It became about them and their art and no longer about the customer experience. I knew it was doomed.

But, with the new ownership, the pretentiousness is gone! They give it to you how you like it, they're very open to suggestions, and you can tell that they truly care about the people who come through the shop.

We'll definitely be back!

The espresso was ok, too bitter for my taste (yes, espresso is bitter, but it can be too bitter), and had virtually no crema (that is not the same thing as cream, just Google crema). I'd try it again if they opened earlier. It's a nice place though, has promise.

This is the best coffee in Springfield, and arguably the best in the state! This ”coffee forward” establishment really focuses on coffee. That may sound silly but many businesses spend too much time on food and menu options, neglecting their most important commodity—coffee! Brick & Mortar (B&M) avoids those pitfalls and emphasizes coffee—and only coffee. B&M is primarily a roastery that also has a small, quaint tasting room to give patrons a space to enjoy the exquisite coffee! I recently had the pleasure of meeting and conversing with Jonathan the owner of B&M. His friendly and knowledgeable approach to the coffee experience made my visit all the more pleasant. The coffee menu is small but sufficient. Less is more! I highly recommend B&M’s espresso. It’s perhaps the best I’ve tasted!

I was so hopeful with new ownership that customer service would get better. Unfortunately that’s not the case. They make a great product, but neither gentleman that run the counter have a sense of urgency. First trip back after the previous owner sold the business was decent but not great. My pour over took 20 minutes to make. Great conversation with the new owner though, he was a nice guy. Second trip I literally walked out the door after ten minutes of not getting helped. This gentleman was not the owner. Felt like “dads out of town, so I’m gonna do whatever I want” from the guy who was running the bar. I walk in and they literally have two people setting at the bar drinking coffee and one guy looking around. The barista runs outside for about three minutes and comes back in eating a candy bar. He then proceeds to go to the espresso machine and starts to make him a drink, as I’m standing at the front counter where you order to not get any help at all. They never asked what I wanted, which all I wanted was a drip coffee to go. I will no longer buy this companies beans from them or any other affiliate they may use. I will no longer be coming back to this shop. Super unfortunate I’ve had such bad customer experiences with previous ownership, now this new ownership. Do better.

This place is really great for specialty coffee with ingredients like pineapple whip or Mexican cola, and they make it fresh right in front of you.
The prices are also cheaper compared to other coffee places and are actually full of espresso vice watered down with sugar and slush.
The restaurant itself looks amazing, like something you'd find in New York or California vice a little street in Springfield.

I stopped by the other day before they were officially open! Really welcoming staff (their dog too). I ordered and iced honey latte with oatmilk, it was so good!!!! The guy making my coffee made sure the my drink wasn’t too sweet/not sweet enough. Super welcoming. I will be back often!
