We sat there for the better part of an hour waiting on an overpriced breakfast burrito and muffin. Finally, we went to check on the hold up to find out they had lost our order. I'm only giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because the scenery and building are beautiful, and they gave us an extra muffin as compensation. Don't be in a hurry if you do visit this eatery. Even those who's orders weren't lost still had to wait overly long for their food.

We didn't expect to get some good vegetarian food in Big Ceder but this beautiful cottage restaurant had enough in menu for everyone at an extremely reasonable price. We went twice and same consistent quality and service. Enjoy the history of this building while waiting and take some pictures of lake from balcony.

A great place to get quality food at a good price while
at Big Cedar! The workers are also so kind.

The selection of food, coffee, and custard is good but plan on sitting inside to enjoy your order. The outdoor patio is fly infested and has been for 10+ (maybe 20+) years. You'll constantly be swatting flies away from your meal. It is really disappointing that such a nice resort can have such a fly problem.

Breakfast burrito and coffee for under $15 makes for a great deal at the captive resort.

One of the few places that isn't outrageously overpriced. The custard is pretty good, toppings were decent and the place is nice.

Stopped for a coffee break on a foggy Sunday morning. The staff was really nice to our 5yr old. They had 2 sugar free flavors for lattes. Our drinks were ready quickly. We also ordered chocolate peacan cookies that were dusted with a finishing salt. Delicious. Indoor and outdoor seating options.

My wife and I both got some kind of zucchini panini, which sounded amazing on the menu, but turned out to be very unpleasant. The waitress couldn't figure out where we were sitting, so by the time our sandwiches arrived, they were cold. The only saving grace of this meal was the chips. They looked to be homemade, which was nice. Extremely overpriced for cold food and possibly homemade chips. I think our meals combined were just over $25. That's way too much for two sandwiches, chips and a couple iced teas.
