I bought their country bread to take home. Slicing was challenge since the crumb was much softer than the crust, so I would recommend getting a good bread knife or sharpening the one you have. This is great artisan bread for toasing and dipping in soup.

Kansas City’s best coffee and breakfast location. The coffee is very fresh. Would highly recommend the pastries and breakfast burrito.

Very cool building, lots of spaces to hang out. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is great as well, great breads and pastries from IBIS, breakfast menu is tasty. Coffee drinks are tasty, batch brew is usually pretty good and pour over is not bad. Recommend stopping in for a visit!

Stunning coffee shop. Great, sleek design, lots of seating - and WONDERFUL coffee. Rooftop deck was closed during my visit but I bet that is great, too. Highly recommend if you need to work, socialize, or unwind.

Great coffee, also really like the matcha lattes here. It’s mixed/blended well with no chunks. Just smooth!

If you dine in, they give you a number to bring you your food. The drinks are picked up at the counter though so don’t leave without them!

Cute interior with a lot of open space and huge windows to bring in natural light. Can get a little noisy since it is a social setting with music playing in the background but I’ve brought my laptop here to work a handful of times and never had an issue.

We are visiting KC for the NFL draft, we had breakfast and coffee here. This place blew me away!!! The coffee is phenomenal! They had a wide variety of home baked goods. We had a sausage and egg sandwich that was so fresh and so perfectly cooked!! The coffee shop has three levels, we sat on the open rooftop, that was so cute with an outdoor fireplace! If your in town, this place is a MUST!!

This place is consistent pleasure. Clean, polished, spacious, open-concept bakery with dynamite small plates of food, and of course a delightful coffee bar. Frequently it’s a little too busy for my liking, but l don’t think that’s a bad problem to have. I like coming here for a place to work remotely. Their mushroom biscuits and gravy are my favorite biscuits and gravy of all time; and I’m not even a fan of mushrooms.

I've been to a lot of coffee shops, like, the amount of money I spend on coffee a year is probably irresponsible.
This place is one of my top! The atmosphere is really cool. Baked goods amazing! I got one of the seasonal espresso drinks, it was creative and tasted great! Staff was friendly and helpful! I would recommend checking it!

Re: only the Plaza cafe: will never purchase there again after having done so many times. It's great if you like being coldly told that you need to use the restroom at ANOTHER cafe or restaurant because they've chosen to close theirs; immature, self-absorbed staff who seem to think they're in Brooklyn; and overpaying for the privilege of all this, including average coffee, with no acknowledgment of tips. This place simply doesn't take their clientele seriously and has left no reason to go there.

To solely call Messenger Coffee Co + Bakery just a coffeehouse or bakery would be underselling all that they have here. This three story restaurant has its own merchandise as well as fresh baked bread made daily. It's a spot where you will find many people meeting up for a chat or working from laptops. With all of the tables, nooks, and space available it's a great spot to put in the work over an excellent brew of espresso and oats like I did! Their menu offers enough variety of filling food items to fuel your energy for the day and you can take a loaf of bread home before you go.

They do offer reward punch cards for both their coffee's and loaves of bread. So if you are a regular there is reward for coming back for more goodies! They do have merchandise for sale at the entrance if you're looking for stickers to decorate your water bottle or laptop or a comfy hoody to warm you up this season. With all of the upsides to this cafe, my only downside is the staff are hit and miss as far as being welcoming and greeting you when you enter. The space welcomes visitors to dine and work on a laptop or gather with friends on the rooftop patio, but the staff seem annoyed if you do so. I suppose just be mindful of how long you hang around and you should be fine.
