Way overrated place in town. Pancakes are absurdly big that is good, but don’t have taste at all it is literally like eating flour from the bag. Service is not outstanding, but just “meeeh”. When you compare this place to other locals that offer breakfast like Harvey’s or Central station grill you feel like you just threw your money to the garbage.

I love the down home atmosphere and friendly service.

I haven't been to The Starkville Cafe in far too long. That won't happen again. They still have the best home cooked food and atmosphere that I remember. Family friendly with the best food away from Mama's kitchen. Enjoy!

Everyone loves this restaurant and I have no idea why. Haven't had lunch there, but the breakfast was sub par. Everything was luke warm when we got it and the hash browns were barely cooked. Might as well just cook at home. Definitely not worth the typical 10-20 minutes you have to wait to be seated.

I ordered the patty melt and the onion rings. Both of them were very very good. The staff, however, was very loud and sitting at the table next to us talking very loudly with other customers, which I guess are their friends. They did have funny signs hung around the restaurant, which was cute.

I've made several trips here.. be prepared to wait. It's nothing fancy.... regular breakfast and a decent lunch. This last time we waited 45 minutes for our food. People got seated, ordered, paid, and left before we ate. Slow is their strong suit.

Hands down the best breakfast in town and one of the best lunch specials. Nothing sits in trays. It's all cooked when you order it, so the food is always fresh and hot. The folks who work there are the best and very friendly. Highly suggest you come here and get something good to eat.

We enjoy dining here because the food is consistently good, but it could really use a good deep cleaning and remodel since it’s the only breakfast/quick bite spot downtown. It is closed down enough hours to do some gradual upgrading without losing the small town diner charm.

Fantastic! There are a few places in Starkville, MS that just "feel" like Starkville, and this is one of those places. A comfy and laid back cafe with home style cooking hosted by friendly servers. I highly recommend that anyone who wants to experience Starkville start their day off here. The reason this place gets four stars instead of five is because it is usually so packed that you often will have to wait thirty minutes to an hour for a table, which should lend to how great this place is overall.

Excellent breakfast. Not many places this good left anymore.
