I rarely leave reviews on places. The employee that took my order was extremely rude. The place was disgusting. Not a clean table in there, and employees never made an effort to clean them while I was there. Would have just taken my order to go had I noticed that EVERY table was disgusting. Place looked like it hadn’t been swept in a week. Drink machine was disgusting. No lids for any drinks didn’t matter what size. I understand that places are understaffed, however, any opportunity that was given for one of the employees to clean, they did not. I’ve gone to the Madison Beagle Bagel for years and it has gone extremely downhill.

I normally like Beagel Bagel - their chicken salad is my favorite - but I was very disappointed with our service yesterday when I was there for lunch. The lady who took our order and made our sandwiches was on a FaceTime call for most of the time, with her phone laying in the middle of the food prep area (right next to our sandwiches) and also touching it with her gloved hands WHILE MAKING OUR FOOD. And when we noticed that she was wrapping up our sandwiches we told her that we were dining in (she had not asked us and we had not said), but she rolled her eyes and then proceeded to ARGUE with us that she had asked us and that we had said it would be takeout. I don’t remember the last time I experienced someone be so rude… All we did was order 3 chicken salad sandwiches! And honestly, I don’t think the chicken salad tasted quite as good as it usually does.

Needs to be shut down for a day and cleaned. Dust and grease everywhere. Service can be slow but food and cakes are excellent. I see lots of comments on here about the unclean conditions.

The food was delicious! My husband's bagel breakfast sandwich was very filling, and do yourself a favor and get some bagel chips or a strawberry crinkle cookie for later. The staff was helpful with suggestions.

First time visiting, loved it. Good food and great service! Highly recommend!

If I could rate this place with a 0, I would!
Right when we got out of the car, it smelled like a bowling alley in the 80's- employees were smoking right at the corner where you walk in, so it smelled inside as well.
No one greeted us; the girl just stood at the register sorting money. She didn't acknowledge us as we waited for about 8 minutes. Counter was a mess, and the bagels looked small for a bagel place.
We left, walked back through the smoke and went to Panera!
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

I could not believe how dirty everything was on the inside! Bathrooms were filthy and not a clean table to sit at without crumbs or just dirty. I could not believe what I was seeing. The associates acted bothered to have to help me. All I could think about was how dirty the back room must be if this is how dirty the front is. There was no pride from the associates about where they work and it is a direct reflection in the cleanliness of the place! No thank you!! Never again!

Love, love, LOVE this place! We don't get to come here often but the chicken salad is the best! Huge sandwiches for very reasonable prices and the staff is TOP NOTCH! I wish I could remember the names of the 2 gentlemen that helped us today but they are fantastic! An asset to Beagle Bagel.

Went in tonight to order to go. The guy taking the order was very rude. After taking my order he started walking to the back dropping f___ this place several times. Once in back the two other employees started doing the same thing about having to cook all while using the F word and other words. They also started talking about their boss where myself and others could hear them. I’m so glad my kids weren’t inside with me nor my husband. This place use to be a nice atmosphere but has really gone down. I will not be back.
