My local Mediterranean restaurant and grocery has been closed for a long time for renovations, so I was very excited to visit Petra Cafe when I came up to Hattiesburg for my mom's graduation. My mom and I stopped in for a small meal before the ceremony. We had some hummus and meat stuffed grape leaves. My mom enjoyed some Turkish coffee as well. Both appetizers were delicious and were the perfect size. We ended up getting dessert as well. The date maamoul was very yummy and the pistachio baklava was fantastic, with perfect consistency and sweetness. We got even more excited when we saw there was a grocery. We got some fig maamoul, pistachio halawa, a large container of star anise, and a can of hummus. Everything was very reasonably priced. The gentleman who was working that day provided great service and was very welcoming. We had a lovely time all around.

My friend and I were passing through headed to the beach. Stopped at Petra for lunch. First time there and it was fabulous!
We had the fried eggplant appetizer, lamb swarma (came with rice, salad, hummus and pita) and the gyro plate (came with fresh cut fries). The lamb was so super tender and juicy.
The portions were big! Neither one of us were able to finish our food.
Great service! Great food! Great prices!

There's never a bad meal here. I love their food. Everyone is friendly. The prices are great. Family friendly with outdoor seating. I love splitting the combo platter with my friends.

The manager was so attentive, the food was awesome! The lamb chops and lamb shank were our favorite items, but the grape leaf appetizer and the falafel are amazing! We really enjoyed sitting outside. Their patio is pretty.

The staff was super friendly made us feel extremely welcome and at home the food was delicious we tried the falafels I highly recommend this restaurant it was my first time going and we will definitely be going back time and time again!!
