Workhorse Coffee Bar

Excellent espresso based coffee and good teas. Good environment to work, free wifi. My latte was delicious, flavorful with hints of chocolate and sweetness, excellent milk steaming & pour. Partner's London fog was good. Edible snacks could be better. Come here to study with good coffee.

Workhorse Coffee is an awesome, independently owned cafe. The owner is fantastic. The coffee (and chai lattes) is delicious. They have a variety of baked goods and breakfast foods fresh daily. But most of all, the staff genuinely wants to get to know you, and to point out fun things to try. During the pandemic, they've made safety a priority and I feel safe entering their store. Highly recommend!

Update May 2022: This has become a go-to place for me. The atmosphere is chill and the food is always delicious.

I love this place so much. The owner is so friendly and kind, and knows soooo much about coffee and the service industry. One of the best lattes I’ve had in recent years. The quiche I had was pretty tasty too! The vibe is pretty industrial with lots of good light. I only wish they had more food options.

I've been visiting Workhorse for about three years now. On Saturday mornings it is the start to my weekend. The staff are friendly, I love seeing the same people every weekend, and Tye (one of the owners) is passionate about serving a locally-sourced roast that provides consistently smooth beverages.

Every latte has a pattern/design poured into it, espresso is served with a high degree of authenticity, and a variety of non-coffee and food items are stocked from local vendors.

One particular item of note is the mini-museum and kids' nook. These features provide families with a place to enjoy their morning while keeping young ones quiet and engaged in activity (toys and art supplies).

Seating is a mix of tall-top large tables with 7 seats and low-top tables that seat two. There is a work table against the wall by the unisex bathroom that has a few extra seats. It may look crowded when busy but regular patrons are comfortable sharing a large table with others.

Clean space and great coffee. I get their cold brew or a macchiato with their pumpkin muffin which is amazing. They have a variety of drinks including tea. The staff are friendly and safety is truly their priority. Their interior is also a beautiful space. I highly recommend this coffee bar.

This place, at first has a kind of hipster vibe, but I think it's a local gem in disguise. The owner is a wonderful woman who gives everyone the extra time and effort without being bothersome or fake. The coffee is delicious, and the syrups are high shelf products.

This might be my new go-to. Both light and dark roasts are flavorful and satisfying. Fantastic baked goods available. Great atmosphere for relaxing and getting work done. Friendly staff is the icing on the cake.

I've been to Italy, I've been to Greece, I've been to Sweden, Finland, and Czechia, I've been to all the coffee shops around town (or at least a good chunk of them) but NOWHERE have I had a better cappuccino. Cappuccinos are the thing I usually get first at a coffee shop that is new to me and the barista cheerfully recommended it to me. It was PERFECT. I am a huge cappuccino person and I have found the one for me. The barista told me that it was a more traditional take on it: about half milk and half espresso (as opposed to more milk and less espresso like at most coffee shops). It was darker but so much smoother! The quiche was also amazing and the atmosphere was calm and charmingly industrial. Easy to get to from the Green line. My friend and I found our new place to hang out!
