Backstory (formerly bootstrap) had an amazing atmosphere for the casual drinker to the coffee connoisseur, with a large space to get lost in. The high vaulted ceilings with windows let you catch the afternoon sun while enjoying conversations with friends, or simply needing to put the final touches on a report before heading out into the city.

The coffee itself is delightful, with options for hario enthusiasts, prepared espresso drinks and tea drinkers alike. The baristas take care to ensure no shot is over extracted, nor pour over linger too long. Would highly recommend and will be back!

Food and coffee are good. I got the potato pastry with pickled onions and a vanilla, rose latte. Atmosphere is super cool and laid back. Get there early to grab a good seat though!

Beautiful coffee shop in the north loop. Huge windows let in natural light. $1 coffee refills. Good amount of seating (lounge chairs and couches, table with outlets, and bistro style seating). We will be back!

This cafe was amazing, good to study, do homework, and have conversations with friends or family. It's a lot more. The service is good due to parking.

Such a cool atmosphere and decor! It was packed on a Thursday morning. Lots of couch nooks. Wifi was fast for working and the coffee was incredible. Only street parking which can be hard to find in North Loop.

Great place to hang out and get some work done in the morning. Welcoming staff and dog friendly inside. There were people chatting but it's big enough I wasn't bothered at all by it.

The espresso was excellent. Very smooth and slightly floral; not too bitter. Their pastries look really, I'll be back to try them

I ordered the cold brew and it was great and honestly not a bad price. The only thing I didn't like was having to wait in line for 15 minutes before I ordered so keep that in mind if you decide to come here. My drink was made very quick but I also ordered a simple drink. I'm sure if you order a specialty drink you will have to wait at least another 10-15 minutes. They have online ordering but it was turned off (probably since they were so busy). Very cute inside and looked like they had a good amount of seating.

The coffee and teas taste amazing and the baristas are always so kind. It can get busy, but just pick a spot and they’ll call your name when your drink is ready- it’s worth the wait. It’s the kind of environment where you work independently together, pick a spot at the large center table or any of the comfortable couches, and people will give space to get your work done. Management is also lovely- get to know Billy if you frequent this spot. He walks around and makes sure everyone is comfortable, the environment is clean, and is is always friendly if you have any questions. It’s quietest in the morning and bring headphones if you need silence as people hold meetings here sometimes, and there is good music always playing. If you’re looking for a spot to get some work done and potentially meet new people- this is the place to go.

One of the most aesthetically pleasing coffee shops in Minnesota! The space & interior is beautiful & makes a great work spot. I will say every time I go it is very busy, but worth it!

Beautiful interior & good coffee, but no open seating when I visited. Super busy all the time so definitely plan to come early or be okay with waiting for a seat to open up!
