Very unfriendly staff. Website stated they were open until 9 pm. We arrived at 7:30 only to he told they were closing in 25 minutes. One barista went so far as to state, "at this time of night, all items are to go..." I try to support local businesses, however, I will not return. I have had other experiences like this in the past and still gave them the benefit of the doubt. No thanks, I will take my love of coffee elsewhere.

Never to go back. Standing in line but never acknowledged. A “Good Morning, I’ll be right with you” would have earned my business and possibly a 5 star rating. Learn customer service. It’s literally the only bloody thing you do.

Wonderful café! Service is excellent! The coffee and food is excellent. The indoor atmosphere is very comfortable. Can't wait to go back!

So I moved into the Denfeld neighborhood over the last year, and have been simultaneously gifted and cursed with this establishment. The music is great, the food is great. It’s local and everything I want in a coffee shop...EXCEPT it is missing one key ingredient. Good coffee. It used to be fine, but not any longer. I’m not sure what changed but their baristas are now pulling extremely over saturated shots. Way too acidic that even their mochas can’t mask it. I usually get a miel which helps balance the acid in their espresso, but I think they could do themselves some good to dial in their espresso daily. I want to like this place so bad, but every time I buy a cup in hopes of learning that it was just a bad couple of times, I end up pouring it out after a few sips. With the new name, I suggest improving the flavor and consistency of your espresso.

Beaners has a great ambiance and the owner truly values supporting our community especially with regards to the music scene. Weds night is open mic night which is a mix of very talented musicians and amateurs of all genres and ages. Their scheduled music is a bit more predictable in terms of talent and they have music virtually every night. The teas are pretty good but my fav is their Chai which is pretty sweet, so you'll have to like it sweet. The service is also pretty great. Definitely a great business to support instead of the big chains, though I will admit the Dunn Brothers in the central area is pretty awesome as well in terms of drinks...much less entertainment however.

The times I've been there, the music volume has been cranked to the level where you can't have a decent conversation. Being edgy and hip is one thing, but being overly obnoxious is another. They have good service for the most part, but the noise, my God, the noise....

Oh my God the food....just go! Don't ask any questions. Truly one of the best spots in Duluth to eat. Organic, local, fresh ingredients. Creative, diverse, delicious.

Hot coffee, cold beer and killer food. I come once a week to check out what soups they have on hand. Normally freshmade that day and hot. Fresh and not too expensive. Definitely a hidden gem in West Duluth. Art on the walls is always new too

Tables were dirty, hate that in restaurants. You're never TOO BUSY to make sure customers coming in have a clean space to sit and enjoy your restaurant.
BUT - their location is convenient and as far as I know only thing like it in West end. I patronize a few times a year and will continue to.

A great locally owned coffee shop and cafe. I love their creative specials. A nice selection of vegetarian options, too. Check out the live music and wonderful desert options.
