Wussow's Concert Cafe

I have been coming to Beaner's since it opened about 15 years ago. Full disclosure, I have gotten to know the owner and his staff over that same period, but that is almost an asset to add to the revue. The coffee is good and there are lots of different local sandwiches and soups and sweet pastry items to try, too. Today I had a piece of rhubarb cake that was delightful.

But for me Beaner's is not necessarily about the food and beverages, don't get me wrong, those things are great. But really you come here to enjoy music or to connect with somebody in a relatively quiet but also vibrant setting. And it is a place with a true local vibe and a bit of a West Duluth vibe, too.

The other thing is that this place is obviously run by people who love music and culture. As an occasional sound guy and DJ myself I know that they put tremendous emphasis on having things sound good. Decent equipment and there is always somebody who knows what he or she is doing running a sound board so you can hear well but that doesn't mean it has to be loud.

The service varies depending on who is behind the counter, but it is always friendly and thoughtful. It does not feel like you are in a chain here, it feels like you are in a neighborhood place that is invested in the neighborhood and wants to be a hub of art and culture and that insists on being welcoming.

Best steamer I've ever had! And a wonderful, unique grilled cheese to boot. And wonderful service! Such nice people.

Love the vibe they have created here. Very warm and welcoming. The customer service is always great. The coffee is delicious. They make alot of there baked goods in house everyday. Its a great place to hangout and get work/studying done. They play live music and have open mic nights.

The all around best around. Jason, Tina and crew are some of the kindest folks you could ask to meet, and on top of that they do an outstanding job. They could have stopped at having great coffee but the spread is fantastic, the beer of greatest quality, and the music superb. 10/10 always recommend!

Love me some Beaners coffee. Staff are super friendly and accommodating. They have a lot of board games and things to do while hanging out. Great homework spot. They also frequently have live entertainment. All kinds of music, poetry, stand up comedy. Plus the coffee is excellent!

Wussows is a credit to locally owned business in Duluth. Had a business meeting there recently. The molasses cookie was stellar. The staff was great. I love to people watch and this is a very good place to get the local flavor.

WAY over priced breakfast burrito. $18 for a breakfast burrito is absurd. It was okay. It was under seasoned and nothing special about it. It could’ve used some crunchy hashbrowns or tots.

Just super a bummed at how much it cost for what I got. Breakfast burritos shouldn’t cost $22 after tip.

I love this place. Just a nice local spot to stop and take a break!
