Not a single employee (including in food service) was wearing a mask. We love their sandwiches and doughnuts, but we took one look and walked out. We will stop somewhere else that cares about health and safety.

Edit after owners responce: we did no go into their sit down restaurant. Those employees may have been masked. The employees at the bakery counter serving guests, at the sandwich counter preparing food, the cashiers for the fuel and the folks stocking shelves were all not wearing masks.

I stop there every time i go to the Twin Cities. The staff is always super friendly. And the bakery section is awesome. Where else can you get an apple fritter as big as your head?

This is a must stop no matter which direction you are travelling on I-94!! The bakery items are the best part and the ginormous cinnamon rolls are my favorite!! The selection of brats and soups is the best you'll find at a truck stop and to top it off, they have a restaurant serving up awesome classics!!

My friend and I went to the restaurant/bar and the service was horrible. We sat in the bar area to have an adult beverage and there was no wait staff. The bartender was serving drinks at the bar and servicing the tables around the bar area. Her service was terrible, the bar area was neglected to the point where I had to clean off my own table. I will not do business with them again.

I make a point to stop by and grab Doughnuts almost every time I am up visiting. They are soo fresh if you are a night owl and can time it right!

35E has it's Toby's situated midway between the Twin Cities and Duluth...a place where you can enjoy breakfast, and fresh bakery items/donuts that are as big as your head (almost). The Clearwater Travel Plaza (formerly known as Nelson Brothers) is the Toby's of 94W, situated between the Twin Cities and St. Cloud, or more distant locales.

Here's what you'll find at the Clearwater Travel Plaza. A gas station/convenience store for all your on-the-road needs. A gift shop. A bakery that offers donuts as big as your head. A deli with fresh baked breads, pizzas, fudge, and sandwiches. A full-service restaurant/bar where you can get some of the Travel Plaza's unique items, such as Apple or Blueberry Fritter Bread French Toast (it's delicious) and wild-rice sausage. Just beyond the deli, on a counter, you can often find day-old bread and baked goods sold at a discount. Loosen your belt before you spend time here, because you'll leave much fuller than you were when you entered.

This place is large, and usually quite busy. Be prepared for a bit of a wait, especially if you're visiting the restaurant on weekends.

In addition, you'll find trucker amenities as well.

The most irritating thing about the place is getting out, especially if you're trying to make a left turn out of the road that leads into the place, to get back to 94. You can wait here for an eternity. I'd recommend taking a right turn and then going up a block or two to the light and turning around.
