I love this place! The star of WASAB is the barista here. I am so thankful for his recommendations! I almost ordered a blonde roast, but he saved me from drinking the “watery ashes of a once thriving coffee bean.” I ordered something else, and I cannot reiterate how thankful I am that he saved me from the cancer that plagues the innocence of this coffee culture.

One of the best coffee shops on the Westside of Grand Rapids! It has such a great open feel and ambiance! The drinks are great and reasonably priced. They recently added sandwiches to their lineup, I haven't had a chance to try them, but they look tasty! Roots is one of those great "Third Places," that aren't home or work that allow the community to come together. Highly recommend this place!

I have been visiting Grand Rapids for a week. I have been to at least a handful of coffee shops, working during the day. Roots Brew Shop is definitely my favorite place to be, and I am sad that I found it on my last day here. The atmosphere is absolutely perfect for a quaint conversation with a friend or to work. The music is at the right level. There is comfortable seating. The temperature and light are perfect. But most of all the staff is fantastic. I'm not a coffee drinker, so sometimes coffee shops feel stuffy to me. But the staff not only let me just look, they also helped me pick drinks that were fantastic! And the staff has been overwhelmingly kind, too. Roots Brew is amazing! And I highly recommend it!

My first time there as it was recommended by a friend. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of Roots Brew. Many coffee shops aren't large enough to be considered comfortable. However, this place is extremely comfortable. There was a pretty large crowd of people there too. Very catchy name as well.
My advise to the reader is to go, check it out. It's a wonderful addition in a growing, diverse and growing city. Aho!

What a fantastic vibe. Full disclosure: The place is so beautiful on the inside that I Instagrammed it - couldn't help it. Highly recommended, so get here when you can!

Roots has great coffee but even better staff!! I got the opportunity to chat up Mallory the owner & she truly cares about the community her & her people serve. If you need a solid cup of coffee in a good vibes only atmosphere this is it!!

One of my favorite coffee spots in Grand Rapids, they have a great variety of teas and coffees - without the super premium cost. It's hard for me to find unsweetened almond milk, and they serve it. Not to mention the atmosphere is hip and rustic and the people are always very friendly. Love how it's not pretentious like some of the other local shops. Highly recommend!

Best coffee shop in Grand Rapids! The coffee is tasty - try the handmade hot chocolate with a shot of espresso if you want something truly decadent!! The bagels are awesome and I particularly love the spreads they make. Waffle Saturday is the best, too!! Delicious! A nice, spacious and inviting place with the best staff. Do yourself a favor and get a coffee here!

Cozy but big enough to find a spot every time. I like all the different styles of counters/tables to use and spread my work out on. I enjoyed my tea and my bagel with a cinnamon cream cheese. It was delicious. I love how it is open late, I work better in the evening. This was my first time there. I did find it a bit dark (lighting) my first visit, so the next time I return, which will be soon ( I loved it) I will revisit the lighting again. It may have just been where I was sitting. Also, the parking is very easy and there is a lot of it.
