I’d go there again for the food and the atmosphere. The barista kept my change for a tip (that’s an assumption) without asking (under a dollar in change but it’s the principal). Little annoying.

But it is a beautiful store. Calm, cozy, and relaxing.

I say food and not the coffee because it’s over priced just okay coffee. Going to over pay, get Starbucks. Ordered an americano and tasted just like something I’d get from a k-cup.

Very good coffee and food with plenty of nearby parking. The staff was friendly and service was good.

A little trendy for my taste, and not a lot of parking. the coffee and food are excellent though.

The atmosphere and community is unbeatable. I enjoy sitting and working but also meeting friends. The staff is always helpful, friendly and truly takes their time getting to know you as a customer (plus they make incredible drinks). This is a MUST go to coffee shop if you are in the GR area.

Roomy yet cozy cafe with good drink options, including root beer and kombucha on tap. Gluten-free pastries from Rise Bakery were an unexpected plus. One of the rare coffee houses to be open in the evening. Would definitely visit again.

Such a cool environment with fabulous coffee 😄 The lavender latte was spot on + the espresso was delicious (none of that bitter burnt taste that happens sometimes) Absolutely recommend checking this place out! I will for sure be coming back to check out their special waffles!!

I love this place so much! It's always a "must-stop" when I'm in Michigan. The coffee is great and the assorted bagels and cream cheeses are to die for. I love that they have vegan pastry options for my plant-based friends. It's got a really chill vibe that's suitable for either studying/working or catching up with friends, and the baristas and the business owner Mallory are all super friendly and welcoming. 10/10 recommend!

Great atmosphere, friendly baristas and the best mocha I've had in a long time!

Lots of seating, as well as a variety of seating options.

They just added a nice outdoor area.

This is my go-to spot to meet clients/prospects/peers/friends.

Best thing about Roots is the diversity and amount of seating. Nothing worse, when meeting someone for coffee, to find that all the seats are taken.

The only bad thing is the parking situation. If someone is unfamiliar with this cafe, it can be a little awkward to find street parking. Also, sometimes (rarely) there aren't any close spots to park on the street, so you have to walk a block or two.

My favorite coffee place on the West Side, although I'm actually partial to their chai latte. Very cozy, friendly atmosphere in a hidden section of the Bridge Street neighborhood.
