Comet Coffee

While not a regular, I've been to Comet Coffee many times and consider it among the best coffee shops in town. However, I was surprised this weekend when the barista insisted that a flat white is the same drink as a latte and seemed to imply that I didn't know what I was ordering. I'm sure I've ordered flat whites at Comet before. If those working that day didn't know how to make one I wish they just would have said so. I received a nice latte, but the interaction left a bad impression.

Classy (but easy-to-miss) little coffee shop in the arcade. Does a great pourover if you have the time, or a smooth cappuccino if you're in a rush. Their baked good are worth trying too.

One of the best tasting cups of coffee in Ann Arbor. Only a small portion of the shop is dedicated for study/laptops. Keep in mind also that they do not have a bathroom and it can get really crowded and loud. But its a cool spot in Nichols Arcade overall. Perfect after an Indian buffet meal at Madras...

Tiny tables and a counter (for laptops) probably to keep people from parking in the limited space. Good coffee, though the milk in my cappuccino was scalded.

Lovely place! Staffs were nice and I liked their offer of a cup of water with choices of still and sparkling.

My favorite place for coffee in Ann Arbor. I use to come here for latte but got into drip coffees. They offer both deliciously made espresso drinks and really good single origin drip coffees.

This is my go-to spot for coffee when I'm on campus. Quality coffee, made fresh using pour-over. They have a nice small selection of beans, as well as teas and pastries, all of which have been consistently good. Friendly service always. This however isn't really a spot to sit and work for a while as seating is pretty limited, though it's a nice spot to chill and meet people if there is room.

Not enough people online rate coffee shops strictly based on a straight pulled shot of espresso. Soooo here you go person visiting Ann Arbor googling for the best shot of espresso - never had any other drinks here but the espresso is bomb

It's the best espresso in Ann Arbor, and while the ambiance is a bit cramped and angular, the staff is kind to me on a regular basis, making it feel cozy and welcoming. If you are in the mood for simple, flavorful, and great quality coffee/cappuccinos/lattes, Comet is the place to go. Their brief tea selection is also awesome.

Probably the best coffee in Ann Arbor (which is really saying something because there are so many coffee shops in this city). Only complaint is that sometimes the atmosphere seems a bit pretentious. I guess it's justified because the coffee is really awesome. Definitely the place to go if you are picky about the quality of your coffee, you will not be disappointed.
