I really dig this location, the coffee is fantastic, staff friendly, nice atmosphere. Why a star off? As good as it all is, it is *really* expensive. The cheapest black coffee is $5. Fine, expensive, but the staff does a pour over for each coffee and it does come out very good. What I can’t get behind is a plain croissant costing $5.25 as an example of their pastry and baked goods pricing.
That is absolutely insane to me — forget Boston prices, I cross checked the menus of 10-15 trendy cafes in NYC’s most expensive neighborhoods like West Village and Soho, and as of writing that’s very overpriced compared to some of the trendiest cafes in those neighborhoods. I get that there’s a market price and pastries are generally overpriced in US cities, but easily surpassing NYC prices is where I have to draw a line and write something like this. I hope other people catch onto this and they readjust.
I got the black cardamom latte and it was tasty and had a lot of cardamom flavour, but this place is overpriced. If you are super curious about what an unusual latte like this one tastes like, give it a try but be prepared to shell out almost $8.
Pretty simple on this one. Showed up wet shivering and cold needing to dry off. Bought two cups of coffee. Was told the bathroom was out of order. Turns out it wasn't. Just didn't want people using it. Not exactly hospitality.
No outlets anywhere which for a coffee shop is pretty annoying for customers, and only seats about 15-20 people. Coffee is more expensive but good. Thinking cup down the street is way better.
They def have good coffee. But this Americano was barely warm and tiny tiny (maybe 4 oz of liquid) for $3.74 after tax. Error on the part of the barista for not using a larger cup/putting the proper ratio of water. Decent amount of nice tables and chairs. I suspect this will become a popular place to sit with a laptop for hours. :) Environment is a tad sterile - it can use some art.
I love Blue Bottle coffee. Location is excellent on Newberry Street. The staff are very weird. My favorite decaf coffee in the world is the Ethiopian blonde roast decaf from blue bottle.
Excellent service and drinks. Might be a bit expensive, but they are very transparent and I think most people go in there and order knowing that. My go-to is always the cappuccino. I also tried the bay breakfast sandwich - amazingggg
I like this place a lot. The mocha was delicious, people working here are friendly, attentive and courteous. The floor plan is not ideal, but overall I would highly recommend this place. The staff is also health conscious.
Friendly baristas and a public bathroom! Our horchata latte had beautiful foam art, and tasted much better with their simple syrup. Blue bottle is not cheap coffee. This space was relatively clean, but it is a small and tight.

Amazing coffee! I got a latte, which was legitimately one of the best I've had. No complaints!
