Mad City Coffee

Awesome coffee! It was hard to make a choice with all the great options. They also have several really good loose leaf teas. The food options are good as well, some energy bars I hadnt seen before, bagels, sandwiches and salads, as well as muffins and pastries. The people are very knowledgeable and friendly, as well as efficient. The exterior is a bit underwhelming but inside it has a lot of character and a great atmosphere. I'm planning my next visit.

My father came home with this “egg and bacon sandwich”. This is truly shocking, as you can see the egg is thick, phony looking, and clearly microwaved. The texture was also the consistency of a hockey puck. Very shocked and disappointed by this. We were excited to support a sweet black owned business, but this sandwich is unacceptable, and unfortunately we won’t be back.

Very nice Cafe. Wide selection of coffee. Limited food menu seems nice but I didn't have any. No idea that they've been here for 20 years. I'll stop by again when I'm in the area.
I'm back ... Still a cute little coffee shop. The people could be a little friendlier but I'm here for the coffee so it doesn't really matter.
I'll be back again next time I'm in the area.

Breakfast sandwich was okay and ready promptly. However, the person at the register taking our order could use some customer service training. She seemed indifferent and not rude, but not too friendly.

I love how they roast their own coffee here (which means it's very fresh). This is one of the best coffee shops in this area of Columbia. I will return!

Great little coffee shop located near Howard General Hospital and HCC. Great variety of coffees (both regular and decaf). Nice variety of foods and pastries (egg sandwich on bagel with sausage and pepper jack cheese was particularly nice with a good kick). Staff extremely friendly. Service great, even though very busy when I got there. All in all, highly recommended.

Tons of different flavored beans.
Would have been nice if i got what i ordered. Asked for the seasonal pumpkin spiced roast, got what i suspect what some kind of blubbery flavor.
Also ordered a B-E-C breakfast sandwich, the group of 5 patrons behind me in line got their sandwiches before i reminded them about mine. I’ll go somewhere else next time I’m in the area.

About to finish my cappuccino; it has a good taste and is well made. Looks like I could have had a china cup but it's my first time and I didn't ask. Steady traffic at 10 am. There is outdoor seating in the shade of the building! There's lots of greenery despite the parking lot, so it is mellow here.

Stopped by while in Columbia. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Probably one of the best cups of coffee I’ve had in awhile. Lots of flavor options, including sugar free. Much better than that chain coffee shops! Also, had some of the most delicious looking muffins I’ve ever seen- definitely going to be my main breakfast spot while in town.
