Amazing find driving through. Beautiful avocado toast, coffee, smoothies…. And baskets and T’s and hats with a Gorgeously designed logo. Awesome spot 🙌

Amazing coffee and great service. Nice little storefront with lots of natural light and a few tables in addition to window seating. Busy stream of people but not crowded. Coffee tastes smooth and rich.

Excellent authentic food: sambousa and latte were great. Avocado toast was rich with a heap of avocado. Owners are from Barundi and very welcoming and friendly

I did not like coffee until I came to this cafe. If I ever ordered any, it would be doctored up with tons of cream and sugar and syrup. I had long accepted that the natural taste of coffee was bitter and acidic, but I was wrong. This is the smoothest coffee I've ever had in my life. It's brewed to perfection with no bitterness at all. I can even taste light fruity notes when I drink it black. It is truly the best cup of coffee I've ever had. I should also mention that they make PHENOMENAL meat pies and delicious pastries as well. If you're stopping in Portland for coffee, this HAS to be the place you go.

There are places where you can feel the warmth. This is one of them! The food and people here are lovely.
We tried Banana soup for the first time here and it was tasty. Loved the Avocado toast as well.
Coffee and Chai were good too.

I visited Burundi Star Coffee for a meeting with a colleague yesterday and had an amazing time! The coffee was excellent, the atmosphere was inviting, and the staff were lovely! 10 out of 10 star for Burundi Star Coffee!

Some of the best coffee that my wife and I have ever had. We missed it after our visit it to Portland, so we had some beans shipped to our home.

Wonderful, unique coffee. Only place in the United States where you can get coffee from Burundi. Great entrepreneurial story!

We got some iced coffee to go and a bag of their own roasted whole bean coffee. Awesome people, and the best iced coffee I’ve had in years - the medium roast made such a nice cold drink, MUCH better than the usual over-roasted coffee chain version. Definitely worth trying!

Wonderful spot with a great owner/story. Coffee, red tea, and sambousas were delicious! Super friendly, I told them about a red latte (rooibos tea latte) I’ve had elsewhere and they made me a latte with Burundi tea—it was just the cozy beverage I needed on a rainy day <3
