Drip Affogato Bar NOLA

UPDATED — So grateful the owners invited us back under new staff/management. Our experience was exquisite. We’ll definitely be back, and I’ve highly recommended this venue to friends.

OVERALL —
Menu details further down, but overall = delicious, obviously envisioned/ crafted with care for texture, fresh ingredients, & tantalizing combinations. Presentation was so artistic! The lovely colored water glasses, pretty little seashell gelato spoons, whimsical napkins, even the to-go cups had the coolest white/black bumpy checkered pattern texture/design! (Yep, I was raving to my date about a to-go cup, lol.) Plus green ivy-covered walls & colorful unique artwork. Interestingly for me, the background rap music worked for an exciting vibe & striking, cool experience, even though I don’t like rap much!

STAFF—
ALL were A+, the servers, bartender, manager . Solicitous & accommodating to our seating preferences & dietary needs; checked on us frequently & unobtrusively; friendly, professional, & timely. During our intentionally-long leisurely visit, we were happy to notice how they treated the other customers in like fashion.

MENU—
Espresso = As other reviewers noted, it is to die for! Even the decaf!! (ROCK ON that ALL the coffee/gelato-espressos could be decaf!! Enjoy dessert & sleep too!!) Tried a simple almond milk/mocha latte and wowwww - truly, best I ever had, as I told the manager!!

Pick 4 Gelato = generous, great to share! Coconut (Zulu) w/ choc. liquor = perfection, my favorite pairing of all!!! Chocolate (“Voodoo”) = to die for. Lemon (“franchise”) = soooo good & cookie too. Tiramisu = delicious, not overly sweet.

Spiked bourbon gelato = a yummy real-deal bourbon experience, & nice crispy pecan topping for balance.

Muddled basil mocktail = LOVED!! Small portion, but so relished! The kombucha one = also very good!

Coconut cake = delicious to the last crumb! So moist, not overly sweet, great icing , lovely with a hot drink.

Charcuterie = we didn’t eat dinner prior, so this was our starter. The ideal hearty balance to the sweets! Nice unique crackers, pepper jelly/ mustard & cheeses. Meats = happily not overly fatty likely other places!

(TIP - if you go on weekends you might get to sample the yummy-sounding limited-availability quiche! We hope to soon!)

Editing my review, as the business owners treat customer service very seriously and responded most excellently and courteously! My boyfriend and I unfortunately had a terrible experience with a very rude server here, such that we actually left and didn’t even get to try the food or drinks, and we were quite upset. However, management responded immediately and with great care, and they even soon informed us the server is no longer employed with them. Apart from our service experience, the vibe of the place was so very special and fun, and it features such exciting menu offerings. So we are looking forward to coming back to try again. We immensely respect that the owners take pride in their establishment and are committed to highest standards for the customer experience!

One of the best concepts I've seen. An affogato bar!! Wow. We tried the flight of 4 different affogatos with various drinks (espresso and hot chocolate), various ice cream flavors, and various toppings. Simply amazing! And the lady working there that day was super friendly! Next time I'm Nola, I'm definitely going there.

Neat place for a boozy dessert (or not boozy). Good gelato and interesting flavors. Traditionally comes with a shot of espresso, but can upgrade to a boozy affagato with a shot of alcohol to pour on top that is well matched to the gelato. Would love to see larger dishes. Not for more gelato, as the portions are perfect, but there is no room in the dish to add the espresso shot, let alone espresso and the additional optional shot of alcohol.

What an amazing concept! I loved everything about this place, from the menu to the paintings. The service was friendly. We tried a flight of the first four affogatos on the menu. I do wish the bowls were a bit bigger. After the espresso is poured on, it was hard to get a bite without the liquid spilling over. They were smart and served it on a tray with lots of napkins, though! Next time I'd love to try an alcoholic pour over!

They have good music, and Such a vibe at night!! Get a alcoholic decaf affogato!! Best dessert after dinner. Kinda pricey but def worth it!

Best eating experience in NOLA I have had so far. The environment is so fun, the servers are so friendly, and the menu is so unique. I got the Krewe DE Gras and it was amazing. The expresso pour over was like a cherry on top. I highly recommend coming here for just the experience but you won't regret it.

Delicious espresso and gelato. The combination was a great flavor profile and I enjoyed the "tiramisu" style. The space was small, but comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The music was a little loud for conversations, but overall I enjoyed it. Loved the furniture and bold decor.

Would be great if not for the loud and obnoxious rap music. Don't bring your kids here.

Edit: While cute design, the espresso cup was not designed to be poured. Even carefully pouring, the shot dribbled down the cup and onto the plate and table. The ice cream bowl is too small to accommodate the whole shot, so you have to eat it in two 'servings'. Definitely not true affogato style.

Was looking forward to having an affagato here, and they were delicious and rich. Excellent presentation overall. However the space was so strongly scented we felt we couldn’t sit in the bar for more than a few minutes max, so we had the ice cream to go. Unfortunate that a few strong candles really ruined our time. Avoid if you have sensitivity to scents.
