It's a decent diner. Nothing to write home about. Not many sides avail, but the salad bar with most plates helps. I've had the chicken fried steak here, and it was ehhh. The sausbury steak however was quite good!

Stopped in route...
must say this is one of my faves and will be back!
This one has it all
the business itself is super cute, every single thing on the salad bar was fresh with a homemade flair , but with lots of great flavor!
I ordered a kc strip mid rare, it was cooked perfectly and also perfectly flavored.
the butter they use is delicious, baked potato was even good and cleaned well I may add..( i like to eat the skin so I pay attention)
customer service laid back and friendly, restrooms and dining area were very clean...I’m talking ceiling to floor clean.
While paying attention to other people orders, everything brought out from the kitchen looked yummy.
now I’m topping it off with 2 slices cherry pie to go..
but the real top off on the experience is that this place isn’t outrageously expensive...
If you have t been here, you should definitely eat here. If you are disappointed it would only be because you have an attitude or mental disorder!
Speaking of...I think the owner of this place must be ocd or some kind of a perfectionist because this place just has it all!
What a great restaurant business!!

Stopped for lunch today absolutely delicious better priced better portions than the competition. And unlike the competition friendly staff who like to do their jobs. I would like to point out who I'm talking about however don't want to offend. If I lived closer I would be there for every meal. Great job

This is a family style restauraunt serving mostly comfort food. Prompt friendly service, a decent salad bar and reasonable choice of entrees. They source many menu items locally, a plus. The dessert pies look delicious, and appear to be made in house. Nice gift shop attached to the restauraunt, too. Definitely worth the 60 mile round trip we took to get there.

I liked this place. It is good old fashioned cooking. We were looking for something different and decided to make the drive to Holton where the cafe is located. The salad bar was well stocked, and super chilled. I chose the chicken fried steak and could cut it with at fork it was so tender. Oh, and did I forget to mention the pie menu? We just had to get a slice of coconut and lemon to go.

Excellent food and service. Good salad bar with a Dill Potato Salad I loved! I had no room for pie but will return for a slice.
