Basta Pizzeria Ristorante

So happy that I got to spend my birthday here. We had the Brussels sprouts for a starter, and the butternut squash ravioli for our course . Definitely a 10/10! The ambiance was perfect and we had a great server. I wish we could of told the chef’s that the food was divine. We will we back again soon, thank you❤️

Mediocre Italian in a city full of average Italian food. Really seems to only get by on college students bringing their parents through for overpriced dinners. Bar program was good but has went downhill recently. Not sure I'd recommend it to anyone.

Oh my! The Hager steak was so good! The prosciutto chicken with gnocchi was to die for! Catherine our server was friendly spot on and just a joy to have tonight! Moved our oldest into the dorm today and we will be back!

would give zero stars if i could. bad management, bad service, decent food. i expected better but will never come back.

food took forever and was cold, the waiter was rude, management CLEARLY needs to change some things around this place.

Interesting place, the food was terrific. Parking can be an issue.

Pizza was tasty (quattro formaggio) but pretty expensive for one person ($20). Outdoor seating was nice. Servers were friendly but busy so not super attentive.

Can’t say enough good about this wonderful place in Iowa City. The food is top notch. A small menu packed with great items. The atmosphere is nice with that “old building” vibe. The wait staff have always been great and our food experiences have been outstanding. We love to eat here when in Iowa City.

the waiter at this restaurant was the rudest human being i have ever met. i ordered the wrong thing and when i went to tell him i made a mistake he flipped out on me and stopped waiting on our table. it was a total misunderstanding and i was not upset at all, he got furious and thought i was blaming him. when i was laughing at myself and saying that it was my fault he walked away in extreme anger. he was genuinely so mean, it was the weirdest experience i have ever had at a restaurant. i will never go back there and i suggest strongly that you don’t either. their food is good not great and after that service it’s not somewhere i ever would suggest again!

Decent food, pizza wasn't my favorite, I'll probably order margarita next time. Pasta's portion was a little bit too much. Awesome cocktail. Service was lacking, waited about 10 min even tho I had reservation.

Will return and order other food, maybe change my opinion. 3.5 / 5
