We enjoyed a delicious Sunday brunch. The atmosphere was upscale comfortable with lots of natural light and beautiful decor/lighting. The menu selections covered most palettes. Sweet, savory, heathy, or comfort. Service was friendly, professional, and fun. We look forward to going back next time we’re traveling to Ames!

Delicious food from a just-right sized menu--short, but something for everyone. Really good regional craft beer list, plus other alcoholic drinks. Great place for lunch or dinner.

Inside is kind of interesting, but we were seated in the corner of the bar for some reason. There was an open kitchen, but we couldn't see it from where were seated The server disappeared for a while to the point that I wondered if she were coming back. I asked her a question about the pork belly being slow cooked but didn't get a lot of information. I ordered the cod and all I can say is that it tasted and smelled rotten. The appetizer that included a chutney was served in a cast iron pan and tasted of metal. The cheese and bread were good at first but became inedible as it cooled and took in metal tang. The menu looked upscale but the experience said sinking fast. Expensive and bad. Sorry. ☹️

I had brussel sprouts salad with salmon protein added, and crème brûlée for dessert. My experience with the salad was that the salmon was a little salty (my sister got the same thing and also commented on this). Overall it was an interesting mix of textures and flavors and I enjoyed it. The creme brulee, on the other hand, was fantastic. Perfect flavor, consistency, and crust. My daughter ordered the chocolate flourless cake, which she said was very rich and chocolatey and came with a lovely mango and passion fruit sorbet.

Nice upscaled diner experience. However the menu is quite limited. So it seems it could be a good way to really showcase the restaurant creations. But breakfast was good but not excellent. Omelette looked like it was made in a mass production environment. Brussel salad had mostly iceberg pieces, Nothing wrong but more was expected from this place.

I wasn't very impressed with the food at the restaurant. Group of 6 of us Iooking for a place to eat in Ames and my boyfriend had eaten there 4 years ago and said it was really good. When we looked at the menu we thought well we'll go and see. I had the carbonara as my friend did and in the picture online it looked really good but when it came we were pretty disappointed. In the picture it looked to be a creamy pasta. When it came it was green and bland.. My friend's husband got the Burger and was not very impressed and did not care for the potatoes. My husband had the pork tenderloin and that was good but the side foods he didn't care for. We all had dessert and that was the best part of the meal. The ambience inside was very nice and the waiter was very attentive. I guess I would like to try the brunch sometime but we probably won't be coming back for dinner again as we just did not care for the food and most of the items were rather expensive.

This was my first time getting dinner at provisions and I was very impressed! I got the Brussels sprouts salad and it was delicious. The veggies were crispy and the chicken (added separately) was very well cooked. The daily bread appetizer was good. I liked the “everything bagel” dip that came with it. Provisions is my go-to spot for brunch and now, it’ll definitely be one of my top places for dinner in Ames.

Probably one of the best spots in Ames if you're looking for atmosphere. Perfect amount of darkness and booth seating to create a romantic night. The rotating menu always has a good option for anyone with a diverse set of choices. I had the pork loin which was excellent but the bacon crust was slightly salty. I have previously had their breakfast offerings which are also amazing! My only real complaint is the location lacks character and is a little inconvenient to get to.

#ProvisionsLotF is Amazing! We used to go here all the time when our youngest son was two. We could get basic food for him, a little bit fancier brunch for us and out of town guests who have dietary needs.

I haven't been here for years as we're never in Ames. Decided to drive up for a Valentines Day lunch outing. Had cocktail s and salads. Both were excellent! The Cherry Crisp dessert was the best we've ever had! Ate at the bar and our server was awesome!
