Riverside Cafe

I've been to Riverside Cafe a few times but twice I've been totally ignored and never served. After sitting there several minutes, I got up and left. They were not busy either time so I'm not sure the reason. Their food is excellent but being ignored is not good business!!
Update: Well it happened again! I sat there for 15 minutes and no one even came to take my drink order! One waitress was refilling salt shakers and totally ignored me. Once again, it was not very busy. I finally got up and left.

The restaurant always appears clean.
The food has been fine. Very little to complain about.
Once, had a really nice filet (side)of Salmon. Very good. But have not seen it offered again.
Ordered Talappea fish once and it was very good in taste. Asked if it came from China....Answer yes. So according to how those fish are raised in China, I haven't ordered anymore since.
Waiter / waitresses most always pleasant & cheerful.
One item that is a problem.
The noise..! Much of the time it really detracts and is uncomfortable while eating a meal.
When the building was constructed back about 1986 (from memory)...the noise become a major problem quickly. Bruner's had professional people study the problem... And the baffles that were installed & aren't there now, allowed that annoying noise to return in full force. That is my reason for the 3-star rating.

Always greeted these employees go out of there way to make you happy. My husband and I love coming to this place also great service and food.

Friendly and courteous. Very happy atmosphere.

I was impressed. The food was delicious, the portions were big, the service was great, and the price was low. This was my first time eating here, and I will definitely be back.

The service was bad - the waitress never returned to ask how the food was, if we needed anything or to refresh our drinks. The tilapia was not thoroughly cooked actually raw in parts, the baked potato was burnt, & there was one piece of potato in the potato soup which was basically greasy broth. To top the evening off my bill was $23.25 and I gave the waitress $40.00 cash and she gave me $11.75 change and I had to wait for her to return to give me another $5.00. We both ordered the tilapia dinner except one of us got the side salad instead of the soup.

They were so busy this morning but the service was still top notch and the food was excellent!

Friendly with quick service near Ball State University. I got chicken tenders which were obviously hand- breaded rather than frozen and onion rings. I got a piece of peanut butter pie to go!

Worst services and food. Burners would be better to come back. Orders were wrong and taken back multiple times. Servers need to keep there hair from bouncing in people's food. Eye rolls from servers when customer asks a question. Definitely need to work on servers communicating with each other or this restaurant wont make it. Very disappointed and very likely to go back or even recommend to anyone.
