A tried and true staple in the neighborhood with a long storied history not far from I-55 or the city. This place is how coffeehouses operated before big corporate places took over. A warm cozy atmosphere with eclectic furnishings and art having home baked goods and an extensive coffee drink list. Wine and beer are available as well. A variety of events are hosted throughout the month including live music, comedy, and open mic which take place in the upstairs area.Located in a historic building complex known for its spectral history. If you're on the Archer Ave haunted tour...a must visit!

Finally went up on stage for open mic night. Couldn't have been more happy. Been going here for a while on Wednesdays but never participated myself. The staff both downstairs and upstairs are super nice and funny. The drink and food is also amazing.

Dude with the pony tail and glasses was extremely rude. My friends and I were working quietly at a table, bought drinks, and tipped and were all of a sudden told very eruptly “We’re closing. Get out. Like now.” As he’s drinking with his buddies who came in, playing slots. There were still plenty of people upstairs and we asked when we had gotten there what time they closed and we were told until 11:00 pm. It was 10:30 and we were told like this versus just normally letting us know “hey just fyi we have about 30 minutes to close we might wrap up sooner” and we would have went just fine. My friends and I go up there a lot to do homework and we keep to ourselves. We love the atmosphere, but this just rubbed us (as well as one of drinking buddies who did try to apologize to us) the wrong way.

Cute and Quaint Excellent little gem to stop with the kids and grab a white chocolate mocha milkshake...yeah that's right, a coffee milkshake! They have ice cream too for the kids and snacks, sandwiches, and board games. With a small selection of beer and liquor you can stop to unwind and play a couple of jackpot coin machines and pinball. They also have outside seating for the beautiful days of spring summer and fall! What is is like inside? Like visiting your aunts house. I love it!

The cozy and welcoming feeling is greeted with the smell of freshly ground coffee, adding to the aesthetic of the cafe. The employees are chill and honest, letting you know what's good and what not to get. I guess they also serve liquor which is a huge plus in my book.

Awesome place! Come here very often and bring everyone I know. I usually get house coffees and sometimes a specialty drink. The bakery treats are great. I always come here with any friends I bring into town or in the area. Awesome atmosphere. Vicky is great and very kind, talk to her very often. For all the people on here complaining about "being dirty" or "run down" or even the political views that are just jokes are insane. That's how it's supposed to be. You want a fancy professional place? Go to Starbucks.

I've been going here since high school. Good atmosphere, good drinks and simple food menu items. Lost a little of its comfort space since the took out some bookshelves and sofas to install gambling machines, but overall still a good place to hang out.

RUDE!!!!!!!!!! I would give this place 0 stars if I could. There's a women there who yelled at me for having outside food, when I was simply waiting for my friend who was ordering food at this establishment. It took 45 mins to make 2 sandwiches, which is insane to me. Maybe the women that yelled at me should've been helping her worker instead of sitting outside doing nothing. Not to mention there is an up charge for using a card thats not disclosed.

We love coming here for their awesome flavors of hot chocolate! This place really is a gem. We have come in at different times, but you’ll usually find students working on homework, or guests just coming in for a quick bite or drink. We haven’t ventured to Ashbury on the weekends, but it’s known to have live bands. If you’re into psychics and mediums, they also host a few a month. Groovy place!

The environment here is the best in the greater Chicago area. Very laid back, employees are genuinely polite, always new artwork on the wall. Never had to chance to check out their events, but definitely love to hang out here every chance I get.
