Dark Matter Coffee - Osmium Coffee Bar

I love this place. I live in Uptown and even though there are tons of coffee places closer I find any excuse to make it down to Osmium. I am not too adventurous with my coffee and always order an Americano, but they are so good, and I really like the space. Get there when the weather is nice because they have plenty of outdoor seating in the back. They serve Dark Matter coffee, which I have come to realize because of Osmium, that it is my favorite.

Good coffee spot with unique blends and brews. Pastries are good, but go quick. The back seating area is nice in the summer, and their punch card rewards program is simple but good.

I love Osmium! The coffee is great, and the seating options are ample -- if you can't find seats inside, head out back, because they have a nice patio seating area with picnic benches. The music is pretty bomb, too.

Came in today as a first time customer and left a lifetime customer. Great coffee for those of us a bit further into our caffeine addiction. The barista I worked with was very kind and knowledgeable and I'm kicking myself for not asking her name because I really want her to get recognition for her awesome customer service. She had short blonde hair and was super cute so I hope that helps! Give that employee a raise!!!

Dark Matter roasts some of the best coffee in all of Chicago! The single origin beans are typically from Guatemala or El Salvador. This place showcases several different processing methods such as wet washing, dry washing, barrel aging, fermentation with beer and wine yeasts, and other tasty experimental methods. Also home to quite possibly the only place I’ve ever had good espresso poured.

This particular cafe from Dark Matter is one of the coolest they have. Good music all day, friendly atmosphere, friendly staff.

Great iced coffee and fast drip, ok lattes. Pre-COVID, I loved coming here to sit at the bar or in the patio in the back. Wait time is really long on the weekend, so order online and expect a 15-30 min wait for your drink

I didn't realize Dark Matter had a location on the North side, but I was very excited to stumble upon it! The chocolate iced coffee bombers are a fav of mine and to have it fresh out of the tap cold is amazing! They sell Do-Rite doughnuts which are my all time favorites. The staff was very friendly, and I liked the bar seating area. They take credit cards for small orders which is nice. I'll definitely be back!

My favorite place to hang out and do my paperwork is this store. I like this place's coziness and ambience. It was so comfortable, calm, and not too crowded. The location that I love the most! Greatly recommended!

Great little coffee house that serves up dark matter. Representing Chicago love. The staff was friendly and made me smile quite a few times in my brief ordering of a latte. Cute outdoor patio in the back and lots of picnic tables, umbrellas, etc.

Great coffee, friendly staff, adequate wifi. Could have a few more food options, but what they do have is good. Power plugs ample for your device charging needs. Wifi does not reach the outdoor seating area.
