Mystic Cafe

Quaint little place, I loved it. Just needed a nibble before an early morning appointment. Was not disappointed by the food or service!

I have to re- edit this to a prior status of "full wonderfulness". After a posting on a less than exceptional experience there has been an immediate and more than reasonable response to investigate and explain the problem experienced and report corrective measures (7 stars out of 5 for this place in service 'beyond the table'). I have faith that I can fully endorse a great dining experience here. Details to follow after I return there in the future😁

Excellent food, service was a teensy bit slow but super friendly, coffee was stellar. There's a separate entrance for the coffee shop and the restaurant, but you can order coffee shop drinks from inside the restaurant. Prices in the restaurant are a touch pricey for the entrees, but the sandwiches were delicious and priced at about $13.

Love, love and love this place! Everyone was super friendly from the moment we walked in and until the moment we left. Every single thing about this awesome restaurant was over the top! One of the best places in Lewiston, hands down!

Had been to Mystic cafe a few years ago and the food was good. Wanted to go back there when we were in town. A girl named Kyle was the host and was very rude/inattentive and had attitude...made us wait about 10 to 15 minutes before he told us that it would be another 10 or 15 minutes before we could be seated. Then proceeded to tell us that it may be an hour before we would get our food. This was shocking as there was really no one in the restaurant. We counted up to 18 employees at the restaurant between servers, cooks and service staff, yet only about three or four tables were occupied. In addition, there was no one else waiting for a table. Very poor management/service. Will not go back to this restaurant!!

Our order:
Cinnamon roll: 8/10. Warm, soft, delicious
Latte: 7/10 normal latte. Better than Starbucks
Biscuits and Gravy w/ Crispy Chicken: 7/10 needed a wee bit of kick, after adding some hot sauce is was where I wanted it
Morning bowl: 8/10, nice combination of flavors. I would add a protein like sausage or bacon.

2nd day:
Lox and Bagels: 8/10. Generous portion of lox, the cream cheese was great and the bagels were soft and delicious

I only went there for a family gathering. I've gone to Mystic Cafe several times in the past, and each time, I've been somewhat disappointed with their food. They put rosemary on their fries, which I'm sensitive to as well as don't like the taste of rosemary in any dish. They don't even offer to make fries without rosemary. Previous salad ordered there was not very good. Their menu items are sometimes not available as well as not having a very big menu and food to choose from. However, their service is usually very good.

Overall good food. The burger was a bit dry and probably could have used some more BBQ sauce, only reason for 4 star and not 5. The tortellini dish was reaaallllyyy good. Service was great. Love the ambiance. We had a smoothy and a peach mint lemonade which were both good as well.
