We have been hearing about “Two Tones Restaurant” in Bonner’s Ferry, Idaho and took a road-trip to check it out. This is a down home, family operated eatery with good vibes and great ambiance. That was the best thing about the place. While it isn’t your 4 star NY rating, where competition is huge, I give it this rating because of its unique venue and character and there is nothing else like it in the area.
My friends had excellent chicken, sauce and mashed potatoes. The salads were great. I ordered the spaghetti which was okay but the meatball was definitely over cooked and the meal was dry. So, I will avoid that dish in the future and try other dishes that I hear are very good.
Summer is the time to enjoy the water feature on the back patio. They do have heaters but hey, Northern Idaho is cold except for a few months during the summer.
Check out “Two Tones”. I recommend it and if this posting was helpful, please “Like” my post. It helps to have the feedback.

If you are in Northern Idaho do yourself a favor and go here! We are here on vacation and wish we would have came the first night instead of the last -in our opinion best food in Bonners Ferry! It's so fresh and delicious with SO many choices. Highly recommend the huckleberry ginger chicken! Also they give you bread that looked homemade with honey butter-absolutely delicious, additionally the huckleberry milkshake was delicious!!! The restaurant is very cute and their patio looked beautiful too, if we had come a little earlier when it was warmer we would have sat outside.

The food has been fantastic on both occasions, and the service was even better! The owner was gracious on our initial visit and recommended a nearby hike to a beautiful waterfall, Myrtle Falls. Sit outside and enjoy the ambiance with serene water features and a squirrel show. Every appetizer, entree, and dessert has been incredible, you can't miss!

Those to the North end of the panhandle, this is for you. If you are looking for five star caliber food, without the high price, this is the place to go. Being from Seattle and traveling for business I have sampled great food from all over. The chef has worked at several high end restaurants on the coast and has compiled a menu of the best meals and deserts.
Hands down best clam chowder I have ever had. He makes it every Friday and will sell you a large batch if you call in Thursday or early Friday. Grab some for hunting camp, or fishing the river to warm you up. The pasta my wife and I ordered had us overindulging. My son’s hamburger looks like something that you would see on an ad for American beef farmers. Oh but wait, they have those deserts I mentioned earlier. Save room if you can, or get it to go. I would have posted pictures of those too, but they were devoured before I got a chance.
I feel that the other employees also have their own contributions as it sounded like one was in charge of the deserts side of things. The owner and staff were all very welcoming and offered fast and friendly service. If you are headed to Bonners Ferry, add this in to your stop. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant.

Wow! This is our first time here and what a nice surprise. Sitting on the patio is mandatory it's an unbelievably nice creation they have. We had the special tonight which was a Cajun salmon pasta it was wonderful.

I was across the road for work and noticed the building, after looking up the menu I saw something that was on their dinner menu the chief was really nice and made me a dinner menu item. The Chicken Masala was so fresh and so good!! Thank you wasn’t expecting that!! The service was more then five stars the waiter took it upon herself to check with the kitchen to see if they could make it and made my day!

On a whim and based on some of the reviews, we decided to try out Two Tones Cafe on our way back to Sandpoint. One of the best lunches we both have had in a long while. Decided to share the French Dip sandwhich and the steak salad. I give the sandwhich a 10 out of 10. The meet was SO Tender! Fries that came with it were good also. Hubby loved the steak salad...especially with the balsamic vinaigrette it came with. I think I would have enjoyed it with a more fruity or less stringent vinaigrette, but I really like the slices of fresh cabbage in this salad which isn't typical of a spinach salad...made for great added crunch to the overall texture- not to mention healthy. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. And finally, when I asked our hostess/waitress if all the desserts were made fresh, she answered yes and she is the one who makes all of them! Hardest choice to pick one, but I chose the chocolate mousse cake with Raspberry drizzle. Cake was fresh and moist, texture and flavors really good. I prefer my cakes to be richer, but most people would Really appreciate that this one is not....so great cake. Will absolutely come again and I intend to try All the desserts!

This little gem is worth a repeat visit.
Cozy restaurant with amazing food. Great friendly staff. The owner even comes out to visit your table.
We had chicken cordon bleu and ahi tuna, with key lime pie for dessert. All were fabulous!
If you can, sit on the patio. At night it's magical.
Would definitely return!

4.5 stars here. i'll admit upfront i'm doing this a bit from memory as i neglected to post review in a more timely manner. we visited in mid June while doing the complete Selkirk Loop trip. chose Two Tones after reading some glowing reviews and it was also very close to our accommodation. friendly service the minute we walked in the door. i wish the weather would have cooperated so we could have sat on the patio but not today. the table we were given had an unusual display of vintage Pan Am airlines memorabilia under the glass. inflight menus, photos, and very unique artwork all just really cool. flying was different then for sure, especially internationally. our server was very personable and informative, answering questions both about the menu and the memorabilia. after some perusal, we both chose pasta dishes. my choice was the Buttery Shrimp Scampi and my DW chose the aptly named Spaghetti & Colossal Meatball. as we passed the minutes before service, we were presented with a basket of what appeared to be small rolls or biscuits. what a delicious bread offering! they called them scones here and they appeared to be fried!? we chose not to possibly offend someone by asking if they were. no matter what these little morsels were very tasty and very, very addicting. especially with the included honey butter. these were amazing enough we chose to order another basket to join our entrees. don't miss these.
my entrée consisted of large shrimp sautéed with white wine, garlic, lime juice, and cherry tomatoes. served over penne. this dish was wonderful. everything cooked just right and the flavors meshed well with the shrimp. not a speck was left on the plate. the meatball served with my wife's enormous bowl of spaghetti was indeed Colossal-see photo. in the past we have been served one ginormous meatball in a pasta dish and it was disappointing in either flavor or added filler but this was delicious. meaty, herby, and cooked perfectly. a bite of this with the outstanding red sauce was very, very good. this one had some leftovers to enjoy another day. dessert choice was a bit of a disappointment. the apple crisp was overloaded with cinnamon, the apples were undercooked, and the topping was soggy. a small miss in a very enjoyable meal and experience. highly recommended.

Truly a hidden gem in Bonner’s Ferry! If you’re a foodie, stop here. There are multiple items on the menu I would love to try. The food was fantastic and I will definitely stop here again.
The service was superb as well.
