The Gathering Place

Bread Basket is always one of my first stops when I am in Bonners Ferry. Their donuts and fry pies are to die for. But their sandwiches and breakfast burritos are also really good. I would recommend the huckleberry fry pie or the maple donut. My wife enjoys their gluten free lemon poppy seed bread. Their prices are also very good. Go earlier in the morning to make sure you have great options. If not they sell out of stuff.

This place is legit. Service is kind. The bear claw is the size of an actual bear claw! And it is absolutely delicious!!! Some of the very best donuts around and I’ve eaten my share of donuts. Just the perfect balance of delicate and volume of the dough! Best maple bar I’ve ever had.

Wow! Im visiting my parents nearby and they took me to this store today and It was wonderful. Their grocery store has high quality food and a nice selection of fabrics, soap, kids books, kitchen dishes. Their prices are very reasonable too. We went next door as well to the coffee shop and I had the most wonderful pastry and coffee. All the employees are very friendly and helpful. This is a wonderful place to shop and give your business too. They also have a small playground and slide for the kids! I’m really glad my parents took me to this place- will definitely be back the next time I visit.

There are two buildings here - the Bakery and the coffee shop. The Customer Service isn't overly friendly in either building but it's good coffee and food. For a quieter experience, go to the coffee shop.

I was really excited to go here after researching and reading reviews. I am hoping to return again for a better experience next time as some days...well, just don't go well.

The whole little strip mall area offers quite a bit so there's more reason to go than just the restaurant but I'll stick to that.

Ok, so yes, they were busy and you walk up to the counter to order. The first thing that was evident was there was little to no communication between the counter and kitchen. We ordered 2 orders of biscuits and gravy. After we had paid for that and the rest of our order, someone came up from the back and informed us (around 9am) they were out, well, she said they had a half order left. So we were refunded the full order. We went in the seating area to wait. Piles of to go containers came and went. It was 20 minutes before we decided we better go check. After all the conversation of the order, they forgot to put it in! When we received it we had to ask several times for things that were missing and it was quite difficult getting anyone's attention at that.

I will say the little bit I did get to eat, the biscuits were awesome and the gravy was pretty food in my opinion, my partner thought there was a raw flour taste. We also bought a round tin of cinnamon rolls to go. They looked absolutely scrumptious! Although when we ate one later in the day, we found them to be quite dry despite their giant size. Perhaps day olds?

I do like the feel of the place and I can tell there is promise, but I'm going to have to give it another shot a different day because I left quite dissappointed, especially as far as we drove to try it out.

What a wonderful place. Food was fresh and delicious. Pasteries....well they seem attracted to me! 🙂

Great breakfast burrito..huge size and small price. The pastries are great also..many different things to choose from. The carmal rolls and sticky buns are fantastic, we left with a sack of them. They also have a huge selection of pies and cakes. This place is a must stop to load up on stuff for the weekend. We will be back.

We had the blueberry scones and maplebars, which we highly recommend. Best ones we have ever had.
