Non masking establishment - barista was eating over pastries and did not sanitize hands after, which even pre pandemic is not to food code. That said, yummy pastries and cold brew, nice atmosphere, and friendly barista.

Wonderful pastries, expresso and waffles. Air conditioned indoors with about 5 tables as well as a similar amount in covered outdoor patio. Avoid the stale ice coffee. Expect a line in the mornings.

After seeing a local bakery IG that they sell their croissants to this cafe I decided to give it a try. The decor was spacious, clean and chic. I went over the bake goods display to see what options I had. I decided a dulce de leche croissant. The cashier tells me it’s sold out despite having the label next to a croissant. Then after receiving my old harden croissant I thought for the price it came with butter or jelly. Nope, we had to ask for it and they charge for it. I didn’t have cash and didn’t want to charge jelly to my credit card. After we order they gave us a number, we sat outside thinking the staff will bring out our food and drinks. Nope. It wasnt busy at all. After approximately 20 min we had to go inside and bring out our drinks despite tipping them $6. The number is only for food. To sum it up. It’s expensive, the staff doesn’t show any aloha spirit. They are so monotone and not charismatic . (They aren’t locals, much of Maui isn’t). Costco has way better croissants. Just go next door to the Krakem coffee truck. They are nicer, have a rewards card system and their coffee is delicious. The only silver lining was the cappuccino. It was delicious!

Possibly the best coffee on Maui, their breakfasts and pastries are also pretty great. If you crave a chocolate croissant, smoked salmon, crushed avocado toast, a wrap or a panini this is your stop. Get to Kihei.

Their outdoor seating is seat yourself and covered to provide shade, a very pleasant crowd, and the sweetest staff.

Java Café isn't a must-stop, but once you do make it here it will become an every day stop.

One star is one too many for the young man working on the early closing shift of Friday Jan 21 2022.
This young man became completely belligerent when I didn’t get up from the table quickly enough. I guess his unstable mind can’t be put into a situation were his orders are not fulfilled immediately. He told me to get out and to never come back, he went on and on truly unbelievable.

Cute little coffee shop. A wide variety of food and drink options. Make sure to check out the pastries before ordering (closer to the exit side of the counter)
I had the chai latte and it was sweet.

The extra star was because the coffee was decent and the croissant was good. But honestly, for a coffee shop tucked away in a strip mall, 10$ (before tip) for an americano and a croissant seems a little excessive. Also as I was inside, an employee was stacking supplies maskless. I should have walked out. Do yourself a favor and go to the Kraken truck just down the street, friendly staff, great coffee and reasonable prices.

Just simply the most wonderful coffee, fresh food and warm kind service! I highly recommend a chilled brunch with one of their incredible smoothies or/and coffees accompanied by their incredibly fresh fruit bowls or waffles! No better way to breakfast on this beautiful paradise island!

Cute little place with tasty drinks.

Was in this coffee shop today and was treated unbelievably rudely by the barista. The group behind me ordered 8 drinks and I had to wait while she prepared their drinks before mine. When I asked her if my drink order was lost, she chewed me out and said I had to 'wait my turn' like I was an errant child. She was also very rude to the European gentleman that ordered the eight drinks. She would put the drinks up on the counter without saying what it was, and when he questioned her, she chewed him out too. This girl needs a serious attitude check. Don't waste your money on this place - there is plenty of coffee shops out there that know how to treat people right.
