Review of Island Brew Coffeehouse

Island Brew Coffeehouse is a local coffee shop, breakfast restaurant, cafe, and sandwich shop located at 1450 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96814. This establishment offers a wide range of food and beverage options to satisfy your cravings throughout the day.

The coffee and food at Island Brew Coffeehouse have received mixed reviews from customers. Some have praised the quality of the food and coffee, describing it as excellent and delicious. The menu offers a variety of options, including waffles, smoothies, strawberry Nutella toast, and the popular Açaí Bowl. The food comes out looking appetizing and is served in cute ceramic mugs if you choose to dine in. However, there have been a few negative comments about the coffee, with some customers expressing disappointment in the taste and preparation. It seems that the baristas may need to improve their coffee-making skills to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.

The atmosphere at Island Brew Coffeehouse is generally described as friendly and hip. The establishment offers ample seating, making it a suitable place for studying or relaxing. The cafe is tucked away on the 3rd floor of the Ala Moana Center, providing a quiet and cozy environment away from the hustle and bustle of the mall. There are charging stations available for those working on their laptops, and the staff provides prompt attention to each customer.

One aspect that some customers have mentioned is the lack of outlets at certain tables. If you need to charge your devices while enjoying your coffee, it is recommended to choose a table in the back half of the cafe. Additionally, there are no restrooms on-site, so you will need to walk to Bloomingdale's to use their facilities.

The prices at Island Brew Coffeehouse have been a topic of discussion among customers. Some have found the food and beverages to be a bit overpriced, while others have felt that the pricing was reasonable and great for the quality and options available.

Overall, Island Brew Coffeehouse offers a convenient location within the Ala Moana Center, providing a diverse menu and a pleasant atmosphere for coffee lovers, breakfast enthusiasts, and those looking for a quick bite or a place to work.

Staff is friendly! The coffee here is great too, lots of fun Hawaiian flavors. My favorite is the Coco Macnut Latté with coconut milk! They have gluten free sandwiches/options on their menu too!

I was in this coffee shop 2 days ago in Ala Moana center branch, after I ordered my food and Latte, I was asking one of the crew to clean one of the tables that I was about to use, and the girl by the name of SUMMER assisted me with such lousy gesture. She cleaned the table by using her bare hands! This was really upsetting and ill-mannered! Until I had to ask another server to clean the table for me. By the way, the table had bread crumbs and it was oily and sticky. Also, while I was asking for help from another crew right in front of her, she did not even apologize. It is very disrespectful! Watch out! Your foods in this coffee shop isn’t safe heath-wise! Imagine having someone like that Barista making your foods! Ewww to infinity and beyond !

Island Brew Coffeehouse is the best option for espresso in Ala Moana! It is worth going to no matter where you are at in the gigantic mall. During this particular trip I ordered the Hawaiian Honey Latte with Almond milk. Obviously, the drink comes with a mixture of honey, espresso and almond milk. There is also a hint of cinnamon. The drink did not taste particularly different than any other almond milk latte (made properly). I will note that you should stir the drink frequently as I got a very strong, unpleasant blend of cinnamon and honey at the bottom after most of the espresso and almond milk had been drank. It was far too rich of a flavor. I'd say that is probably more my issue than the coffehouse's.

I fully recommend Island Brew Coffeehouse

food was great Workers are awesome and have great customer service but today I went there and I asked for a steamer after I drank the whole steamer there were bits of black little things at the bottom of my coffee cup didn’t know what it was thought it was coffee grinds if I knew that there was something at the bottom of my cup I wouldn’t have drank it. Manager was a guy saying sorry but didn’t look like he wanted to do anything about it offered me to make a new one after I drank it and I said no I think my money should be returned didn’t look like he want to give me my money back. I don’t think the manager should be working in the front end because he has poor customer service

Probably the 2nd worst acai bowl I've had in my life. The toppings were okay, but the acai part tasted like dirt. I only ate the fruit and granola. My husband wondered if it was mold. My friend bought a sandwich which he thought tasted very earthy. I actually didn't tell him that my acai bowl tasted like dirt, but he asked me after I made a face if it did because of his sandwich.

The cold latte wasn't very good either. I ended up only taking three sips of it.

Overall it was pretty gross. I went in on Saturday in the afternoon.

Oh, but the staff was helpful and they use metal straws. So good for them on that I guess.

good food.. sometimes. not sure why but food service here is extremely inconsistent also the spicy chicken aioli is not spicy at all so don’t get that if you’re wanting something spicy

Great food. I highly recommend the turkey pesto on ciabatta! This location is always really crowded, to get a good spot you'd have to go early. Bring a jacket or sweater tho cuz this place gets real chilly.
