Island Brew Coffeehouse
Review of Island Brew Coffeehouse
Island Brew Coffeehouse is a local coffee shop, breakfast restaurant, cafe, and sandwich shop located at 1450 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96814. This establishment offers a wide range of food and beverage options to satisfy your cravings throughout the day.
The coffee and food at Island Brew Coffeehouse have received mixed reviews from customers. Some have praised the quality of the food and coffee, describing it as excellent and delicious. The menu offers a variety of options, including waffles, smoothies, strawberry Nutella toast, and the popular Açaí Bowl. The food comes out looking appetizing and is served in cute ceramic mugs if you choose to dine in. However, there have been a few negative comments about the coffee, with some customers expressing disappointment in the taste and preparation. It seems that the baristas may need to improve their coffee-making skills to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.
The atmosphere at Island Brew Coffeehouse is generally described as friendly and hip. The establishment offers ample seating, making it a suitable place for studying or relaxing. The cafe is tucked away on the 3rd floor of the Ala Moana Center, providing a quiet and cozy environment away from the hustle and bustle of the mall. There are charging stations available for those working on their laptops, and the staff provides prompt attention to each customer.
One aspect that some customers have mentioned is the lack of outlets at certain tables. If you need to charge your devices while enjoying your coffee, it is recommended to choose a table in the back half of the cafe. Additionally, there are no restrooms on-site, so you will need to walk to Bloomingdale's to use their facilities.
The prices at Island Brew Coffeehouse have been a topic of discussion among customers. Some have found the food and beverages to be a bit overpriced, while others have felt that the pricing was reasonable and great for the quality and options available.
Overall, Island Brew Coffeehouse offers a convenient location within the Ala Moana Center, providing a diverse menu and a pleasant atmosphere for coffee lovers, breakfast enthusiasts, and those looking for a quick bite or a place to work.

Maybe it's because I'm from Europe, but we're used to eat with fork and knife... Island Brew doesn't have knifes. Rather difficult to eat eggs benedict with just a fork. Also the "eggs benedict" are not at all what they supposed to be: just fried eggs over easy (I think they have a special equipment for this). But what can you expect from 4 employees who are all below 20...

Incredible Service! The staff are very well trained and always have a smile on their face. I've been to many coffee shops all over the world and Island Brew truly stands out. The Interior design is beautiful and perfect for anyone looking to take photos of coffee. The sandwiches are delicious and well presented. The price for all the drinks is less than Starbucks and the quality is much better. It is located in the largest outdoor mall in the U.S., so maybe a few food items costs a little more, but the pricing is fair. If you are looking for a nice place to have a meeting or do some work on your laptop, then you will enjoy Island Brew. I recommend the Pastrami melt and the smoothies are great too.

I discovered this wonderful coffeehouse on my recent visit to AlaMona and can honestly declare I enjoyed the best coffee I have ever had. I ordered a latte and bagel with everything which was delicious. The staff were always delightful. I am from Western Australia and I will miss visiting your fabulous Coffeehouse when I return.

Good coffee. Could get 5 stars if it was more hygienic, have been multiple times. Got a long hair in my coffee the last time I've gone. There seem to be some fruit flies hanging out around the end of the counter/food prep area that could be gone with a decent cleaning. Plenty of coffee shops around and not the only show in town.

Great place to meet. We were there to have a little planning event for February. The frittata my friends ordered looked delicious. The location was awesome and there was ample plugs to keep my laptop energized. The lights to one part of the place did go out and we just carried on.

My auntie and I were looking to have a cup of tea and chit chat before lunch. It's hard to find a place where you can get a proper mug and a proper tea in Honolulu. This place was terrific! Comfortable and lots of seating. It is on the upper level next to Bloomingdale's and the yoga shop. They had many varieties of tea and their steeping method was quite unconventional. We enjoyed our beverages and lemon bar. Alyssa was exceptional and made our experience very welcoming. She is an asset to the company.

Great coffee, delicious food. Plenty of options to accommodate dietary restrictions, including gluten free bread to sub for any sandwich or breakfast item.

Nice coffee shop tucked in the corner of the mall. Some unique drink choices and all local sourced.

I love this little urban retreat in a remote corner of Ala Moana. The coffee is very good as well as the food. Nice atmosphere. A good little escape while shopping.

It’s okay. It’s very crowded. Sandwich is so-so and very expensive. I have never tried their coffee that’s probably the highlight. The tea is not great despite the fancy brewing method, and the tea leaves smell like there is added “natural flavors” on top actual tea leaves, but that’s the case for most western tea shop. The staff is nice and you can ask them to wipe tables for you. I saw flies in the pastry cabinet and although that’s common it’s frown upon. They use real matcha powder though so that 100 times better than Starbucks. I like their matcha latte and their homemade lemonade isn’t too bad. It’s a nice ambience otherwise and easy access to Ala Moana center with free parking.
