Loved this little homey spot! The fish was as fresh as could be, and my pork tonkatsu was juicy and crispy. We had halibut and toro sashimi, the eel roll and a tuna handroll. Recommend 💯

Cute, no-fuss restaurant in an outdoor patio setting. Servers are friendly and food is tasty.

Deducted one star because the food honestly is not super worth the price. Paid close to $30 for a skimpy ahi “bento bowl”. Even though the tuna was quite good and very fresh, there was barely any rice or vegetables. Did not come with anything else and the tap water they serve is pretty disgusting. Overall,Japanese Grandma’s Kitchen was just a flat-out gentrified and disappointing experience.

Do not come here expecting a filling meal.

Unexpectedly found here when visited some shaking bridge. Entrance was a little confusing but the shop staff kindly welcoming to the restaurant. Actually all the tables are in backyard and look hidden cafe. All staffs were pretty friendly and kind. We ordered Chirashi and pork ramen for lunch. Both were tasty and recognized it as genuine Japanese taste. In particular Chirashi was the best dish I would recommend for everyone who look for fresh sushi. We love this restaurant and want to come back soon.

The Japanese food, desserts, cocktails and sake were AMAZING.

We ate, drank and enjoyed the outdoor ambiance for hours. Unfortunately, most of my pictures of our wonderful meal disappeared off of my phone, but I must recommend the Hamachi, the poke, the steak, Dragon roll and the cheese cakes!

Outdoor seating was very pretty but the food was pretty meh. Wait was about 20 min for three dishes. Sushi was good but the Soba and tempura was just ok. Carrots tasted like they came from a plastic bag.

Incredible flavors and a wonderful atmosphere. The fresh seasonal offerings (drinks and also food) were exceptional. We got a lot of different foods (mostly vegetarian) and loved them all, hard to pick favorites. We had a fantastic waiter too. It’s got a lovely garden patio set back off the street. Very reasonable prices too, especially given how top-notch the food is. Great live musician on weekend nights. Thank you Japanese Grandma’s Cafe!

Wow!!! The ramen is mind blowing. They only serve ramen Monday through Wednesday. So make sure you hit them up when this menu item is offered. It won’t disappoint. I literally could just sip the broth and die happy. The other menu items we ordered did pale in comparison, but we’re not bad. Drinks were also delish. This place is small small small. But man, the proficiency of the staff made the size of the restaurant a non-issue. Make sure to make reservations to guarantee you get a table. They also have outside seating.

Stopped by after a friend recommended Japanese Grandma. Food, service, and atmosphere were all great. Open Table said no availability but we were the only ones there at 11 on a Thursday. Filled up by 12.

Tasty fresh food. Everything we got was thoughtfully prepared and yummy. The outdoor seating area was fine. Lots of sun shades which was appreciated in the heat.

Loved this place and it’s out of no where in that area. They have a big garden cafe and great service.

We loved the veggie sushis and they got the order ready in less than 10 minutes.

Staff is very welcoming and accommodating.
