Berni's on West Main

Excellent food and very busy, this is the place to eat in Swainsboro! Try the bacon wrapped oysters and shrimp and grits, and the cheesecake. The cheesecake is much lighter than normal cheesecake.

Berni's has been on my radar since the recommendation of a local antiques shop owner told us about it, so when we got the chance we jumped at it. Berni's is in a cool location with plenty of parking in front and across the street in the square, it is an old building with a real cool layout. The booths are somewhat enclosed so your not bothered by those around you, the tables in the center are distanced well enough apart and there is an outdoor seating area as well. The kitchen is enclosed in glass so you can see everything that goes on in there if you choose to do so.We had Ashlyn as our server and she was able to answer all of my questions and gave excellent recommendations with solid reasonings behind them. We got warm dinner rolls with a creamy honey butter that were a great start to the meal. I started with the bacon wrapped oysters that has a unique dipping sauce that looks but is not spicy. For my entrée I chose the steak sandwich with the prime rib instead of the ribeye option, it comes with au jus that was delicious and not salty like most seem to be. For my side I had the fried okra that was good and not overly breaded. My friend got the Creamy chicken gnocchi special that he said was amazing. We went to Berni's on a Friday night at 6 at night with every booth full, the outside seating was full of high schoolers headed to prom and we waited for nothing. Our orders were taken promptly, drinks and food came quickly and just as we had ordered. My hats off to the Berni's kitchen and wait staff for a job well done. I can assure you that we will be back!

Cheesesteak was good here. Hand cut fries were delicious. Great service.

sorry.. have had previous good experiences but not today! waited 30 min for a chicken salad croissant and tomato soup, and a chicken finger platter with a sweet potato. the croissant and sweet potato were good. the cup of tomato 'soup' was literally a glob of very thick marinara with parmesan on top. sent it back for sweet potato fries, which didn't come before sandwich was finished, so canceled them. chicken 'tenders' were anything but! tough, stringy.. like they were cooked yesterday and microwaved. manager knocked off $2 (gee thanks)
so we paid $22 and left hungry.

Very good food, looking forward to seeing live music there. One note: the serving staff is hit or miss, so definitely recommend sitting at the bar to eat, as the bartenders are fantastic! Chicken meals and Specials, and burgers are great! Full bar, fairly quiet/private booths to accommodate the family-friendly and a quiet girl's lunch at the same time, daily specials, decent prices, but do wish they had Happy Hour as drinks are a little pricey ($6 for well drinks - a $3 or $4 well drink time period would be great!). Been several times, menu and Specials are pretty good. Will definitely be back - hands down better than Rustic Grill, at least for what we are looking for - a few drinks and a comfortable meal on a weekend.

Omg amazing, amazing this is my new spot since I move 2 GA. I can't for my family and friends to experience and enjoy the food. The prices are great and the staff is wonderful

Great food. Excellent catfish chowder. Was taken here by coworkers. When I asked where we were going for lunch, they didn't hesitate to say we were heading for Bernie's. Good choice.

The service was awesome! Kind and warm atmosphere. Greetings with a smile! Great steak dinner with seasoned fries. Highly recommend if your traveling through and want a wonderful meal:)

Very good food and service.
I got the prime rib in a skewer and it was delicious. The seasoning on the medium rare rib was outstanding!
Also the bread that came with the soup was very soft and warm, delicious with butter and sour cream.
