We waited close to an hour for our lunch. The first waitress took our order and delivered our beverages. A group of four sat behind us about 15 minutes after we arrived. They ordered their meals, received their drinks and appetizer while we waited.
Another waitress came by to check on us. She explained that they were short staffed. She checked on our meal after the later table of four received their meals while we continued to wait. The second waitress accommodated us and was kind and patient listening to our concerns about the service. She delivered our meals. The food was good. Schnitzel is thin; thinner than my husband imagined meat could be. It was flavorful. The potatoes were excellent - well seasoned and hot.

Very good German food! Started with the cheese kabob the had the Jaeger schnitzel and spatezel. Very happy with both. Definitely try the apple strudel!

We tried this place based on its world famous fried cheese.
The portions were generous. 3 of us took enough home to have lunch the next day.
The Jagerschnitzel was very nice. The bratwurst plate was also good. Our 8 year old loved the broth of their chicken noodle soup.
My only complaint is that the spatzele was more like a noodle. In fact, they used it as noodles in the chicken noodle soup. The fried cheese was good but for sure not world famous.
The staff was friendly and attentive.

I had a nice Tuesday brunch with an amazing cup of their mocha coffee! My friend and I each ordered a different sandwich and split them in half and shared them! I had the fried mozzarella cheese sandwich and she had the pork schnitzel both of which were AMAZING! The server was as good as gold! Would recommend to everyone looking for a great place to eat in Helen!

I loved this place from my first visit to Helen. It was my "go to" for Jager schnitzel. I have never had a bad meal or bad service. Today, though, I was extremely disappointed. It's a regular Sunday and we get there at 11am. We are sat immediately and drinks are brought and order is placed. After we get our waters and coffees the server is gone, just gone. I'm not watching them run around trying to catch up, which i would understand, no, I'm watching them stand around at the bar. I was a server for years and I understand being in the weeds but they really just seemed to not care. After about an hour another server brings the food and low and behold, it's cold. How long did it sit there? I just ate it. I didn't care and I still ordered desert when she finally came back around and I watched her take the apple strudel, pop it in the microwave at the bar, and pour soft serve ice cream all over the hot plate. It was the most disappointing thing I have ever seen.

Decided to come here for dinner on a Sunday and was not disappointed. The fried cheese sandwich is a must and the soup combo with it is a massive deal. I came by in the afternoon next day for coffee, also great. Would suggest to anyone visiting. Looking forward to eventually trying their breakfast one visit!

Definitely would recommend this place. The servers are very friendly. The food is delicious. We ordered breakfast and lunch and dinner items. One of them the goulash, the schnitzel breakfast, the pork shintzel, and sirloin with creamy sauce. All very appetizing!

Come and stop by for a bite! Little piece of Germany! 🇩🇪

The restaurant is recommended by locals as the most authentic German food in Helen. The spatzle is excellent in a mushroom sauce with chicken topper. The chicken schnitzel is perfectly prepared with cucumbers to bring a coolness to the warmth of the sandwich. They are famous for apple struesel but they do run out but if you are willing to wait, they make more for patrons. The interior is small but they have front and back decks with covering. There are steps up to the restaurant which might make wheelchair access difficult.

Best food for the price in Helen. Had the cordon bleu and was delicious. Amazing red cabbage kraut as well. Fried cheese sandwich was slightly cold when we got it. Would recommend nevertheless
