If you live in or around Covington the short jaunt to porterdale is worth it as Maddlulus is definitely a hidden gem away from the square and honestly cheaper, healthier, and tastier than what's in the square.

I stopped in Porteredale on my way from Covington to Magnet looking for a bite to eat. Unfortunately all the eating places seemed to have closed shop. I them spotted this funky little coffee shop and thought, what the heck, I'll give it a try even though it did not look like much from the outside. It didn't look like much from the inside either. 🙂 I ordered a sandwich and saw Cappucino on the menu. I asked the pleasant young man if he really knew how to make Cappucino. He assured me he did. I was not very hopeful as most of the time Cappuccino is hopelessly sweet and the expresso does not have the creme that gives the Cappuccino it's special taste.
It arrived in a proper Cappuccino cup and was an absolute delight. Perfect. Very rare to find a Cappuccino made properly (and please, don't give me that Starbucks burnt coffee nonsense).
The sandwich was fresh and good, but this is definitely the spot if you are looking for a cup of really good cappuccino.

Maddlulu is AMAZING! Literally everything she has is delicious; the premium coffee, her organic tea, the quiche...I could go on all day. If you’re looking for a relaxing spot with great baked goods, food, and drinks, you’ve got to go to Maddlulu!
